Things and concepts at the edge of reality — and credulity. The bizarre and the spooky, mysteries, cryptozoology, weird coincidences, aliens, esoteric knowledge, truths with horrific implications, ghosts, and whatever else seems to fit.
If you read MP Hall and Adrian Brown you'll have a better understanding of masonic iconography than most low tier degree hotel attendant pleb oppressors.
Revolt Against The Modern World will help you understand what the frick half these homosexuals are talking about.
Thought Forms and whatever that Russian chicks name was to know what scientologist literally believe and why celebrities eat each other.
Philip K Dick for some crazy good scifi from a schizo who said an alien gave him knowledge and predicted hella shit in today's world. Still waiting to need ID and Credit Card to enter certain areas. Lots of good kino based on his stuff. Scanner Darkly has an Alex Jones cameo.
all I got off the top of my head but I could probably throw you a few more bones if you tell me what you're looking for specifically.
"On the face of it, there is something rather strange about human psychology. Human beings live in a state of mind called ‘sanity’ on a small planet in space. They are not quite sure whether the space around them is infinite or not (either way it is unthinkable). If they think about time, they find it is inconceivable that it had a beginning.
It is also inconceivable that it did not have a beginning. Thoughts of this kind are not disturbing to ‘sanity’, which is obviously a remarkable phenomenon and deserves more recognition."
This is the most important esoteric book I have ever read. Because reading this will set you on a lifelong quest that will send you down many roads you would never have traveled otherwise. And you will be permanently changed by the journey.
religious books are an obvious choice, you can find loads over at sacred-texts.com.
Another is labirinto hérmetico, which is a library of occult texts, alchemy, numerology, symbolism, etc. The site is in Italian, and a lot of the books are French, but you can find a good number of English books on there.
In terms of fiction, I can't offer a lot. I'm currently reading House of Leaves, which I've enjoyed so far, but it's really, really fricking slow if you try to read all the footnotes in order, which is what I'm doing.
I've also read The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman, from his Book of Dust trilogy. It has a sort of magical realism thing going on, and a lot of the main plot revolves around a criticism of pure rationality. It's also just a really good fricking book. Pretty long though.

I can never find good books, usually it's just the same point that would take one paragraph to explain stretched out and restated a thousand times to make it 300 pages.

Jakob Boehme sits at an interesting intersection between philosophy and esotericism. Would recommend for a theosophical/perennialist perspective.
