This is closer, except, with the negative energy that they suck, they also suck YOUR energy, so you feel weaker, so it's more likely you feel worse, feel even more negative, and they get to suck more.
The more negative energy they suck, the more there is to suck, because your energy that wasn't negative, becomes negative in a vicious cycle.

They feed on bad feels. They make you feel bad so they can feed on more bad feels. Do you feel better after they feed on said bad feels? No idea, but presumably, even if you do, they're going to make you feel bad some more so they can feed off of you more.
But I think this is like the David Icke version of the Archons dwelling in the Hollow Moon, and the original Gnostic teachings are probably going to be less literal and much more diverse. But in a general sense some Gnostic traditions held that Archons were something like servants of the Demiurge here to continue torturing you on the material plane. They would be roughly analagous to modern Chrisitan concepts of demons.
The Watchers are more of an Old Testament Apocrypha thing. They play roles in one or more of the books of Enoch. They're alternately identified as the Nephelim, Son of God (Ben Elohim), and/or the Igigi of Mesopotamian myth. Usually, they kinda just watch.
