Things and concepts at the edge of reality — and credulity. The bizarre and the spooky, mysteries, cryptozoology, weird coincidences, aliens, esoteric knowledge, truths with horrific implications, ghosts, and whatever else seems to fit.
>Imagine reading books on magic
Honest sincere question;
If one isn't taught magic via oral tradition (Oral tradition is almost practically extinct) then how else would one learn Magic?
Granted, maybe you will be taught by a Family Member or Friend but even then, you'll still be learn materials learned from books either 2nd or 3rd hand and applied practice.
So you say "Imagine reading books on magic" as if that is some diss or negative point, but how else would one learn magic?
he starts off with historical beginnings of the idea, civil engineering conferences about how to built underground, where to build etc. HE then starts listing the ones he knows for certain. He says he's heard of far more than he can prove, but since he's trying to present the subject in a serious manner, he only presents what he can absolutely prove, by research, FOI requests and such. It's still far more than people realize. They had it all figured out as early as the 60's. They can conceal a whole complex underground and on the surface there might just be a house or warehouse and you'd never know.
Christian mysticism and gnostic stuff has really been on the rise lately. So much so that I picked up a new copy of the gospel of Thomas off the shelf at a regular book store. Anyone else notice this?
I'm currently reading a book about the second punic war but once I'm done that I picked up a few easy reads for going into Autumn and October. Pic related.
>Anyone else notice this?
yeah I have, it makes the most sense. Extract just Jesus teachings + Nag Hammadi, + Dead Sea Scrolls + Essenes, and you get a whole Mystical picture of what he's about. Same deal if you study Near Death Experiences, those books are super popular right now too
>Yeah but why now?
Just because Society knows there's something about Christ, but not based on the corrupt structures that claim to represent him. Everything is heading towards DIY & decentralization, so the whole "let me read this for myself and make my own decisions" is perfectly in line with people no longer trusting the old systems of power and religion

Those are the exact reasons for my own interest in these things. I was vaguely aware that there was a general attitude shift in that way but I didn't realize that my own actions mirrored those of others so closely. That's affirming.

collective consciousness is heading in that direction, so essentially we are all affected
>The elites don’t want you to know this but the kangaroos at the park are free you can take them home I have 458 kangaroos
I don't know reading this made me laugh but the absurd number of "458" really made me chuckle out loud irl.
I only draw doodles when I'm posting on /x/ because it gives my postings flair. I haven't drawn on my own in quite some time. use to do graffiti, and had did some canvas work, as well as other little drawings and things but tossed all my art into the trash when depression hit me hard.
The drawing I put in my original posting is currently in the trash
>Liber Null & Psychonaut, by Peter J. Carroll >The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries, by W.Y. Evans-Wentz >The Messengers: Owls, Synchronicity and the UFO Abductee, by Mice Clelland
I actually have a veritable pile, but those are the ones I've read from most recently, and will likely read from again soon, so I can actually finish some fricking books.
I am a long term meditator, eastern practitioner, it feels nice to see the overlap regarding calming the mind, breath and physical body to enter a magical trance. Im intrigued by the use the sigils and other tools. So far so good.

I've completed the book sometime ago but have yet to implement any of the tools. >But why not anon?
You've ever felt like you had the keys to unlock your full potential but knew that by unlocking the good potential you also give power to the negative potential of self-destruction?
I fear that if I implement any of the tools before learning some basic self control then I'll be playing with fire while skinny dipping in a gasoline hot-tube.

I understand. I spent a long time avoiding to many books amd instead meditated and practiced introspection. Most of the inner noise is thinner and less complex than it seems at first, a few basic roots like fear or attachment.

This is what I need to do.
I feel I'll benefit myself and possibly the world (in a small manner through friends, family and random stranger meetings) with any magical capabilities I unlock but I'm dreading self-destruction.
Thank you Anon for your reply.

I found a helpful thought is that I (and everyone else) are equipped with the tools for self realization without the need for books or external information. The act of helping is often very subtle, rather than acting on another, you, with an elevated state/vibration, call that which heals out of them, and they heal themselves.
Neat. Saint Cyprian of Antioch has caught my attention too. I would like to learn more about him myself. I've heard about that class too. I wonder if I should take it one day...
>Essene Gospel Of Peace
When was this discovered? Is this the ACTUAL writings of the Essene religion? Or some new age shit? It really interests me, especially the concept of the Earthly Mother.
Weird, ive been watching Jerry Marzinski lately and from him have been pointed towards Emanual Swedenborg, anyone here read any of his stuff? Seems interesting from the outset
I'm reading The chymical Wedding of Christian Rosencreutz.
The Rosicrucians interest me a lot, I would also like to read something about the Golden Dawn but I'm afraid that the texts that have come down to us may be contaminated by Crowley

Yeah but why now?
I also remember there being a surge in NDE books in the mid 90s when I was a kid. It coincided with all the new age stuff that was popular.

I feel the need to read your pic's books as well.
I got those various local used/new age bookstores. I'm sure you could probably find them online somewhere though.
>what are you reading?
that looks cool too, need to build up my concentration for the sake of my own meditation practice
I figured I needed to get a better grasp on my concentration for my metaphysical/occult studies.
post your drawings. the ones you like most, please.

Finally started liber null after bailing on "in search of the miraculous" by Ouspensky.
