By chance what would you consider top tier content then?

Honestly, I can't tell ya cause a lot of it is just clouded by pure nostalgia for me.
My favorites tend to be Puppet Master's Regime, 1999, The Dead Poets Game, The Holder Series, A Simple Ritual, "Please don't actually try this"/Three Kings, Harbinger Experiment, among a couple others. I tend to be a sucker for ritualpastas compared to anything else which also aren't really for everyone.

Cringe homosexual. He got called out for being a pedo a couple years ago too
The God tier sprite art was what really made it work. I'm not a big fan of the ending tho, would have worked better as just the cartridge being I window to another place and Red is looking back at him and bizzare stuff is happening without an explanation.
it never made me shit and piss myself so idk what you mean, i'm a 34 year old millennial, also the people that claim they were scared were paid actors.
Well it's the same reasons that liminal spaces are terrifying to some, it's an uncanny level sort of deal. To a child that uncanniness being a source of unrestrained terror is multiplied so it makes sense why it would be spooky or terrifying even.
Zoomers are more just obsessed with the extremes of horror to the point where it's incredulous, I say this as an early zoomer (2001) which causes me pain.
It's either nostalgia-fear or just obsessing over the same shit to the point where it becomes flanderized somehow.
I never noticed the hand until now that is kinda fricked. The other one where he looks like a meat sack was the first one I saw, and that one scared the shit out of me
Kek, I remember first seeing smile dog back in like 2011 when I was in middle school and really thinking I was going to die for looking at it. I remember getting so fricking sad and crying that night when I went to bed. But then I woke up the next day and was completely safe. I think that morning I even prayed to God for saving my life.
I remember watching Tats Top Ten do a creepypasta video, and this one scared the shit out of me for some reason.

I miss old creepypasta shit. It's actually the reason I found /x/ back in like 2011/2012. Then it got co-opted by tumblr teenage girls and it became really homosexual. Same thing happened with SCPs.
Looking back, a lot of the stories were really garbage, written horribly, and not even remotely believable. But when I was a young kid/teen some of the creepypastas were at the very least believable enough to make you go "maybe..?" and that was all that was needed to make your skin crawl. Now that I'm basically in my mid 20s, shit like Analogue Horror seems like the gayest fakest shit that makes me laugh more than anything else, but I'm sure if I was a kid/young teen I would think it's creepy.
I'm gonna drop some kino for older anons who remember and want a nostalgic trip > https://youtu.be/wIGxKY5y6Mg

I used to sit on my PC with my friend and we'd try to find the scariest videos on youtube when we were kids lol. Back then it was mostly jumpscare stuff but occasionally you'd find something legit creepy.
The 112dirtbag shit alwaysfreaked me out as a conspiracy theory just cause of how unhinged the guy was, I jnow he wasn't involved but still weird
Apparently he had more vids and I've tried so hard to find them lol. Checking for mirrors or reuploads, and the waybackmachine and random archives. No luck so far.
Damn bro, thanks for the memories.
No problemo anon. I encourage anyone to link some nostalgic creepy vids that I missed, some of them I don't remember.

Youtube comments are genuinely some of the most unfunny people on the internet. Any popular video is just the same three trendy jokes/templates posted verbatim over and over or like >EDIT: OMG 100 LIKES I'VE NEVER GOTTEN SO MANY BEFORE THANK U
Same thing happened to my sister but with the scary maze game. My step father was sent the game in an email from his daughter and he's an old boomer and couldn't complete it, so he had my sister give it a try, had no idea that there was a pop up on the last level lol. Volume was full blast and made my sister jump out of the computer chair and cry. He felt so bad about it lmfao.
My dad told me about it when I was a kid and I had nightmares about what the face could look like until I played the game with him. Just froze in shock for a sec and then never worried about it again, thought the face was just golum from LOTR lmao.
Man i hate this new generation so fricking much calling people old who were shitposting in 2010. Those times were like couple months ago. Besides no one talks about the baggie pants culture of 2006-08 anymore. Those were the fricking times man. I remember when we used to be shook for the skinheads for being labeled as "rapper for using big pants and stuff. Songs were send w bluetooth. And skating was almost illegal to the point of whole town persecuting skaters as hooligans.
>mid 90s kid >random silly sunshine game >make it to the final boss >creepy, horrifying music with real screams and unsettling tones >tells you Catholicism is a lie >mocks you and your existence >erases your game file
It turns out this anti-piracy measures but I didn’t know that.
No internet existed, no creepypasta, nothing just urban legends from friends and shit. Some people would think you’re lying.
Somehow it’s him that lives on every generation, he comes back every 10 years or so.
>He was an urban legend similar to Bloody Mary in the late 90’s and 2000’s who terrified millennial children >He was a creepypasta in the late 2000’s and 2010’s who terrified Zoomer children >And now he’s used in those stupid clickbait YouTube kids videos and Friday night funkin mods to scare Gen alpha kids
creepypasta was just better before youtubers starting making videos en masse, the difference between finding a weird jpeg on some obscure plaintext wiki versus seeing it plastered over thumbnails with 3 million views just can't be overstated.
Some of the older youtube vids about creepypastas were way better than the stuff that came later. Case in point.
This chick was an /x/ poster years and years ago, I think this story specifically came from a greentext on this board. A lot of english/journalism majors in college would browse /x/ and flex their creative writing skills and post really well written stories. Their stories spawned young teens writing their own stories that were way worse and unfortunately much more remembered by everyone than this. All these peeps who left are probably in their 30s now, which makes me a bit sad lol.
It wasn't the picture that made people freak out, it was the creepypasta. The pic was posted right after the pasta, which made people think it was legit.

Monkey Bomb COD Zombies
For me it was the scene with the puppet in Polar Express.
for me it's just that entire movie, that shit was a fever dream
Pt 2, also used to watch robo chicken as a child no wonder am so screwed up
Shit's scary bro.
it never made me shit and piss myself so idk what you mean, i'm a 34 year old millennial, also the people that claim they were scared were paid actors.
Why would you do this anon?!
fail, you fricking homosexual
lol, seethe cursedgay
I don't know why, but this always seemed spooky to me as a kid.
It's the mixture of authority and plainness of the the authority, it's like an EMS Broadcast. Utilitarian to the point of being inhuman.
interesting take, I think you might be right
Well it's the same reasons that liminal spaces are terrifying to some, it's an uncanny level sort of deal. To a child that uncanniness being a source of unrestrained terror is multiplied so it makes sense why it would be spooky or terrifying even.
Also the implication that you would be in some kind of danger had you turned off your computer without permission.
rly. Imagine if it wasn't safe to turn it off-
I had totally forgotten about this. Warm, comfy feeling seeing it again. Thankyou.
Zoomers are too moronic to understand the concept of getting cursed through your dick just by looking at a jpeg
Zoomers are more just obsessed with the extremes of horror to the point where it's incredulous, I say this as an early zoomer (2001) which causes me pain.
It's either nostalgia-fear or just obsessing over the same shit to the point where it becomes flanderized somehow.
>”you have to be 18 or old-“
Wait, oh my god
I'm old enough to vote and drink in the US, it's kind of scary.
Millenials are now the aged ones
Wait til a red is chasing you then mate
hahahahaha bunch of pussies
smiledog is about a million times better than this Siren head and fuzzy wuzzy shit

>Millennials
That's zoomer shit I was scared of that when I was 11
>millennials
I'm 20 and remember smile dog being a thing talked about in elementary school. I don't think you know what you're talking about.
> I don't think
Should left it there, sport
For me and a lot of other German children it was this episode of X Factor, that made us shit bricks.
>it's a fabrication
>this one was invented by a writer
I think how to survive hell is ok minus the extra edgy shit
that makes it worse
RAAAAAAAAAAAAPE
hot
It's just a doggo.
Are you afraid of dogs OP?
Wrong board
It's paranormal though, why would this be on the videogames board?
still doesn't
If there was such a thing as smile dog, this monstrosity would be the #1 contender.
yeah oh my god the tiny black eyes make it what it is
I never noticed the hand until now that is kinda fricked. The other one where he looks like a meat sack was the first one I saw, and that one scared the shit out of me
Found it
honestly didn't find this one scary, looked too fake to me.
op looks just uncanny enough
Kek, I remember first seeing smile dog back in like 2011 when I was in middle school and really thinking I was going to die for looking at it.
