Tarot, turtle shells, bones, tea leaves, I Ching... Whats the underlying thing, common to all divination methods that make them work and that can be applied to create new divination methods?

>Subconscious picking
>coincidence
>faith
I've tested out many different divination methods. Even random number divination as well as rubiks cube divination. I've had anons say my methods worked, even though these are new and untested methods. They simply work because they work.
do you think it might be because of you and not because of the method?
is it a skill? an innate one perhaps?
I dont think it's a skill. Anyone can learn how to spin a rubiks cube randomly or click generate random number. It seems to me that there is a faith component that a lot of people don't have. So if there was a skill somewhere in all this it would have to be having faith in the process
I think you need to have an entity who is trying to communicate with you, hopefully in order to aid you.
Otherwise, you are going to get genuinely random results that should not be "strongly interpreted"
I dont feel like I'm communicating with an entity when I'm doing my divination. It really feels like me reaching into a dark pool of subconsciousness and pulling out pieces of someone's subconsious from the murky waters of their mind
Thats because, anon, you are doing exactly that. With the aid of your higher self, and permission from the other, a kind of information exchange happens. The method used is like different brands of fax machine. They are all based on the same principle, and give access to the organic network some call the akashic records, albeit in a very limited way. Dont wanna get overwhelmed! Thats why divination often has structure or rules, to define the information gathered.
I'd agree with you that the contract between you and another person as well as the established rules before the reading are what make it possible.
I'd like for you to explain this "higher self" concept. Is my higher self really an entity outside of myself that I am communicating with, as you stated in
.
Only because it doesn't feel like it's 3 beings communicating during the divination. Or maybe I'm overthinking your words
Those self help wishful thinking threads are unironically correct.
we can use our spirit to modify fate (the course of reality) for our purposes. but you REALLY have to believe
in the selected examples the form is ancillary to the refinement of the practice of the function as an output to the input of variable output in function of the form (this may be my best schizo post to date, im decently sure this actually follows...)
Some unknown and impossible to observe deterministic force
An organized system of concordances applied to a series of symbols that form a visual language. You're organizing your mind around categories and making relations both to individual symbols and the connections between them. Boom. Narrative. Any consistent and suficciently robust organizational model seems to work. I don't really care about the why so much, the fact is that we recognize patterns and form coherent stories that seem to be true or come true.
What more "precice" and effective methods share is a belief that there is something to be interpreted, the cards or the hexagrams have something to say, and that there is a direct, if esoteric, inference that can be pointed out and applied to the question or situation. Tall tales and wishful thinking reflect the lack of experience of the interpreter. Oracles are often coded or presented as a figure-ground relationship because kings don't like bad news and giving them enough rope to hang themselves keeps seers alive and in business.

Bullshittery
Randomness within matrices of symbols systematized to represent reality and the human faculty for perceiving symbolic connections and parallels.
You're tapping in the flow of causation. You can tell a person is going to move forward when they move a certain way, suggesting they will move forward, right?
Looking at abstract stuff let's you see certain movements that indicate things will move this or that way, any human can potentially do this.
What do they all have in common? They all look at abstract stuff dont they
Intuition and imagination. You can literally look at cloud shapes and scry using that.
