One of the things I noticed about liberals and conservatives is that neither side wants to accept the other side at all, and bother are threatened by each others existence.The conservatives want to believe that we must become pure by obeying God, and that to do anything else is sin. The liberals want freedom, that's why their religion is largely Art (you could say) and therefore they are obsessed with expressions of the ego.
Both sides are scared of each other. But let me explain where I'm going with this: I know all that religious stuff is real, like Enlightenment, the Great Compassion of the open heart of Christ and Buddha, and so-forth. I have had intense spiritual experiences, so yes they are real. I also know about the beautiful atheistic worldliness of the liberal world. So both sides are losing not learning from each other, and neither side is whole, but rather incomplete and isolated.
And all of this must be seen from a perspective of reincarnation, because as humanity evolves, our world will become more understood and more like the fictional planets as depicted in Star Wars 1-3. But because of our low evolution state, we see things in black and white.

I mean the terms conservative and liberal in a very general sense, you don't even necessarily have to include politics. The conservative world would be something like going out shooting, and owning a piece of land and making a farm. The bill of rights and the constitution. American history.
The liberal world is full of experimentation. Crazy art. Gays are accepted and are a big part of that beauty. The good part of the liberal world is that you practice freedom of will there. You're allowed to taste this fruit as long as you don't go too far, like pedophilia. So this world is actually quite tame, but still insane since the art and people are all over the place. And that's a good thing.

I'm pretty open minded, but I've had to learn to distinguish that their thinking is the way they view it. I'm open to listening to them and allowing what is underneath their words to resonate within me, but I don't need to internalize or abide in what they're saying at all.

You evolved to open-mindedness towards conservatives. You already succeeded. Now what you need to do, assuming you already know the beauty of the liberal world, is to go deep into that one-by-one.
For example you could watch documentaries about the revolutionary war on youtube. This evolves you as a person because you directly understand why this Republic exists. The conservative world actually also includes the world of other races, such as the Buddhists. The faults of the conservatives are that they want to get to heaven or enlightenment and they are scared of their demons.
On the other hand, the liberals are full of demons and they have this knack for taming them. It's a different world! As a conservative, you have to explore the people in this world to find it's beauty and strengths (freedom of will being one of them). But these people are in desperate need of understanding the conservative type people (again, the Buddhists, Christians, Native Americans). They are not balanced in the sense that they misconstrue or totally ignore God.
That's the exact same trick of good and evil too.
People are attracted to evil because they don't like all the rules/laws that are associated with good, and they see evil as more free and even exciting.
But actually true light is where freedom and excitement live. So people seeking light end up on the side of evil, or good. Because good and evil each contain a bit of true light and true dark.
That's how the trick works. If you think there are only 2 choices and they both contain darkness then no matter which one you pick you get some darkness.
That's why everything in this world is dichotomies. Those who serve darkness keep playing this same trick, and it keeps working.
The only way to see through the trick is to listen to yourself and see that neither of the options are what you really want, but something else entirely which is the best of both worlds.

Umm, op here, I guess I should post this story. My sister is 27 I think. I know that sounds dumb not knowing my sisters age, but I like people not their names and age. She's very naturally liberal, but because of me, she understand the conservative side too, so she understand the other side.
Anyway, her friends at Lake Tahoe (California or Nevada side) did ketamine or whatever that drug is. Now it's over 9 of her community friends that died of that drug.
So I go over to my parents house randomly 2 weeks ago and she's there, and she's playing this music that is like 'trip hop' or whatever stuff where you mix. It's mixing music, kinda electronic. The guy who made it is a young guy who looks 20yo to 25yo who did the mixes. Okay cool, but she tells me that this guy did his music based on how "this music is a message that you're not going to see me ever again". That's my sister telling about this young guy. So the young guy visits central or S. America, I don't remember what she said, and the guy shoots out on whatever drug and dies.
So the point of the story is like... the fricking liberals aren't wrong to be doing what they're doing, but holly frick, don't you understand the elephant in the room you liberals? The elephant for you is that if you're going to be an unhinged liberal, expect to die of lines of cocaine or something. Yes, it's beautiful to have to have the freedom of will to take boxing skills and sound a frickers lights off. I've always believed the world is big enough that everybody should get a place in it that they want.
