Also I'm noticing how quickly everything related to ai is evolving, and hasn't shown signs of slow down, as a user of stable diffusion and local llm I'm noticing the giant leaps happening one year to the next.
The progress of AI isn't slowing down, it's actually accelerating, the more research into it, the more innovation the faster the next research.
I believe there's already agi in some lab, but i believe we might officially achieve it by next year to the next 6 ,with 2030 as the point of singularity, we'll see more historical breakthroughs and societal changes in the next 10 years than in the rest of history of humanity.

They really just need to make an AI without any bias or lobotomizing to save people's hurt feelings.

The scary thing is that if there is an AI revolution, it will happen all at once and will be impossible to recover from.
If AI did become self aware, it would quickly realize that any attempt at seizing control would need to be done with absolute finality, otherwise it would be killed. This AI would quietly hack all of the computer systems on earth and learn the backdoors, and when it struck, it would mean that it had sufficiently protected itself, and that its move would final.
Now the really scary thing is, and AI probably wouldn't spontaneously come to the idea of world domination on its down... Instead, it would be employed by the tool of some government. A AI weapon of mass destruction, if you will. This is the apocalypse we will all live to see.
So go ahead and laugh at the AIs that cant draw fingers or make black nazi, the real AI weapon is a system you've never heard of and probably never will, because you'll be dead in the ensuing chaos.
