I'm not a christian, because i feel like the christian religion is for sheeple, and i don't like the christian idea of heaven.

I'm not a christian, because i feel like the christian religion is for sheeple, and i don't like the christian idea of heaven. But, I can use Christianity to debunk all other religions. How? Let me show you. Let's look at Buddhism and Hinduism. Buddhism is a religion for monks. Why would a layman ever choose Buddhism over Christianity, Buddhism offers a layman nothing but temporary godhood in some higher plane if he donates lots of stuff to the monks and eternal reincarnation after that until he one day finally becomes a monk and renounces life and attains nirvana. So, in this world, what benefit does Buddhism have over Christianity, which says you can get salvation in one lifetime, it has so much more passion.. a man literally died for the sins of all men including you, and if you disbelieve you will be sent to eternal burning fire, and if you believe and attain salvation through the help of your spiritual endeavor or whatever I mean there's still a process of attaining salvation but just imagine.. endless reincarnation or eternal bliss in heaven after one life on earth. And hell if you disobey. What does Buddhism offer to laypeople that is more emotionally and culturally impactful than christian teaching? Or pagan religions like Hinduism who cares if the gods want your worship, a man like you are one died on a cross to save you according to Christianity.. and what do the gods do for humans? Receive prayers and food and drink energy I mean who cares like literally, compared to Christianity? The fact of the matter is Christianity singlehandedly debunks all other religions. And Christianity is not even true. Thoughts on that? What's your spiritual path having this in mind?

Easy as f*ck. What would your culture rather benefit from. Every believer being a priest and a saint, that's what the bible says, or, every "follower" a.. pagan? Who is subservient to some ambivalent gods or goddess or whatever. that's it. Nothing comparable to Christianity is offered in shri Vidya. You become a pagan, Hindu, follower of "the eternal law", worship and then attain "mukti" and then die. But Jesus gave his life for you according to Christianity. What did shakti give? Nothing. She sits there in Hindu heaven, and does nothing for you. Christianity is not better than my path, but it's sure as hell better than "Sri Vidya".

Yeah man. Your resentment for no reason just for not reading enough about your dumb cult is proof that christians are, even though their religion is untrue, all better people than your ilk. Give me a break. Sri Vidya. You didn't explain anything about that. Subconsciously you did this because you don't give a frick about this dumb shit, just as little as I do.

I have made a simple argument. People who follow eastern religions always come with their traditions names or some name dropping some tiny details of these traditions. Yet only christians take the time to explain what they believe when talking to you. This misbehaviour of non-christians is a good indicator that there is something wrong with what they believe. If you claim you love, but you don't take your time to explain truths you hold to be factual, then you don't love. You are a pretender of a lover. No love is there because you don't give a frick. You simply follow something like Sri Vidya for personal amusement and not for the benefit of humanity.

What's the point of telling you what I believe when you'll twist or misinterpret it because you cannot rationalize a paradox? Much of Eastern spirituality is about rejecting dichotomies, which Western thought loves to build and maintain to facilitate values such as conviction and objective morality, values that are greatly diminished in Eastern thought

I have studied the eastern religions Buddhism and Hinduism and little bits of Daoism. I contemplated emptiness for hours and fathom the deeper meaning of non-duality. You can tell me about what you believe.

    >a man like you are one died on a cross to save you according to Christianity
That "man" is God, and he knew full well what would happen both before and after the death, unlike actual men whom do not know. Also unlike actual men, Christ was resurrected three days post-mortem. It's not the same thing, outside of perhaps the superficial sensory pain.
    >Sins
There is also the fact that Christ, Son of Man and son of God (but also, is God) serves under the Father, whom is responsible for all that is.
    >7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
What then does it mean to redeem and forgive people from the evil that which you have created? These are logical inconsistencies. The religions you deem "Pagan" at least admit that these gods are not free of evil (Though there is an argument to be made that actually Hinduism is monotheistic and similar to that of Judaism/Christianity via Brahman, but I digress), and thus don't worry about this Epicurean Question. There then is one thing you get outside of at least traditional Nicene Christianity.

I guess there's also things like the personal benefits of different practices, would you as an individual rather spend time meditating, or spend time praying? This doesn't preclude any particular religion of course, there are meditative practices in different denominations of both Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and so on, but also prayer practices. However one cannot deny the increased focus on prayer and attendance of sermons within the Christian sphere as opposed to, say, Buddhism. That difference can make or break a religion for people, irrespective of their social background or origin (as you put it, the "layperson").

The main point is, ten thousand early Buddhists from northern India only one hundred can achieve anything, ten of which can achieve the real goal. Ten thousand early christians from Italy possibly nine thousand can achieve the real final goal. So why would cultures embrace Buddhism over Christianity?

    Easy.
Obviously ancient aztec religion is the one true interpretation of our world. Think about it. There's a cruel God king sitting in heaven watching our world through an obsidian mirror, and imposes a tax on mortals paid in blood and souls, if the humans default on their debt, he sends down cosmic jaguars to maul them.

The only way to reach an actual heaven is to die by a really shitty disease or in service to your empire. All other people have to: get crushed by colliding mountains, be cut into pieces by harsh winds, get mauled by a bunch of jaguars. And when they finally make it they live in a cramped and poor village for eternity under a mad cannibal God.

Aztec Chad's knew the true way, all other religions were made by gays.

Any real human being with a soul inside of him can see how wicked this is just from the first few sentences. Cannibal. Obsidian. Blood and souls. The ancient Aztecs have no souls, lol.

And Christianity is the gayest of them all, because its so fricking easy. You said yourself you knew it isn't real. Why exactly? Because the supposed mercy of heaven does not match your lived experience?

      Anonymous

I don't know what you mean by that, mercy doesn't match experience.. but I have my peculiar reasons for rejecting Christianity. It's just lame. There's no spiritual practices, it's too easy, there is no mystery. Everything is explained away with words. No real paradoxes.

Exactly, its too easy. Thats why you don't believe in it, there's no need for a greater explanation or a challenge here on earth, which makes it really weird that you then say that no one should logically believe in another religion than Christianity because of how easy it is. You yourself are unsatisfied with the biblical truth because there are no paradoxes to unravel in its pages, and then there's Hinduism and buddhism which is all about unraveling paradoxes, your stance here could become a koan taught in monasteries with how little it makes sense.

          Anonymous

Well you didn't understand it correctly. I mean this. The average person doesn't care about mystery and paradoxes. Only monks do. The average person would be much more drawn towards Christianity in a one on one of religions.

Well, if we're getting into advertising to the laypeople, then

            1. They don't actually care, they literally go to whichever religious service is: best catered, close to their house, the dominant ideology in their region/culture/family

            2. Even if Christianity had "better benefits" unless you're a soulless heathen from California, you can't just choose what to believe in, if people believe that Hinduism is more accurate and that the Hindu pantheon is real then they won't be believing that a God who automatically negates their gods exists.

3.its only certain sects that make it THAT hard, one of the largest denominations of buddhism probably got as popular as it did, in part because they pass around this
3-6 line poem written by an "enlightened monk" from centuries ago, that if you just say the words to it, upon your death you will be transported to the buddhas personal spirit dimension where he will be your personal trainer and get you swole with esoteric knowledge until you reach nirvana.

You're not forced to believe every single piece of dogma surrounding a religion to consider yourself a follower.

I view myself as Christian, as that's the most widely represented religion in the culture I was born into.

But I'm still a firm believer in reincarnation. And if there is an all-powerful force that passes judgment on you after death, your general moral standing/karma and effort put into connecting with the devine likely matters much more to Him/It than what idols your praised in your lifetime.

The best belief is the belief of the Old Testament. The world was created by an awesome Almighty God, he rules everything and everyone and does whatever he pleases. He is a God of righteousness and justice so he loves those who do righteous things and hate those who do evil things.

If you love him you will learn to do righteous things and If you fear him you will learn to not do evil things. And if you do this and you worship him humbly and loyally he will love you and will make your life amazing. He might test you and refine you through trials and tribulations, but if you endure and keep on worshipping him and loving righteousness and hating evil, he will approve of you and then he will bless you with great blessings and all good things will always be give to you and you will live a long and satisfying life.

Then if you resist evil until the end and die in righteousness, there will come a day that will be the last day of the world and all will end, in that day he will revive you from death and he will give you an eternal inheritance in a paradise so that you can live in his presence forever enjoying of pleasures and happiness even your wildest fantasies cannot match. This is the promise of the Most High and he has never broken a promise in all the eternity he has been alive.

El Shaddai is blessed and may be be praised forever for all these wonderful things he does for us undeservedly. Those who seek him will never regret it.
