Day 1 of water fasting after being instructed to do so in a dream. Any tips or suggestions?

Day 1 of water fasting after being instructed to do so in a dream. Any tips or suggestions? Would taking vitamins be "cheating?" I've never fasted before so any input is appreciated.

vitamins will just make your tummy hurt
how long are you planning to fast?

Not sure. Probably 3-5 days at most as I've never tried it before so I don't want to do too much too quick and frick myself up, but I want to stick it out long enough to do whatever my dream instructions were trying to get done. Figure that's at least a good starting point, but again, I know nothing about this. I just know I gotta do it. I don't remember my dreams very much at all, so a dream where I remember very clear instructions to do something? Gotta do it

you can do just water for 3 days easily. longer you'd need to get electrolytes somewhere. don't redo them too often

there's a lot of people online doing fasts for weight loss etc. nowadays, you can read up more about it for more info or tips on what to expect/how to cope with hunger etc

        drink water and good luck

Be careful, you really should only water fast for 3 days max. The danger isn’t lack of food unless you’re anorexic, but the lack of electrolytes like salt, potassium and magnesium, etc. these are essential for various parts of your body, but especially your nervous system and muscle function, without which you’ll first get cramp in your legs and then things like heart failure can happen.

If you really want to fast safely for longer than 1-3 days, then you need to make sure you’re getting these electrolytes. You can mix the appropriate levels of which into your drinking water. Other than that you can also drink things like bone broth.

You also need to refeed properly since there’s another condition called reseeding syndrome, where if you eat too much after fasting for a prolonged period of time, you can cause your body to go into a state of shock, which again can cause a stroke or heart attack.

Don't overdo it. "Came to me in a dream" is a meme around here for a reason - sometimes dreams are just that and following them blindly will frick you up.
That being said, a couple of days of water fasting shouldn't be an issue and may be indeed good for you if you don't do it too often.

I'd recommend just a couple of days tops for your first time, since some people do have weaker bodies, more easily affected by sudden changes lack of food brings. Don't stuff yourself with food after you'll come out of fast, either - you'll hurt yourself. First meal after fast should be something relatively healthy but light, in small portion.

I'd also advise going for longer than say, a week down the line. Some do it for much longer, but many also start developing health issues after just a couple of weeks, sometimes severe. I know of rare cases when it was like a full blown starvation someone experienced after several weeks, with certain internal organs starting to weaken and shutting down, crippling the person semi- or permanently. Sure, those are extreme cases but there's no reason to push it, especially since most worthwhile benefits of fasting you should be getting after that one week and you can always do it again after a period of time of getting nutrition and your body back to norm.

      Much appreciated!

It should come from context later in the post but just in case, I point out I fricked up in one line:
      >I'd also advise going for longer than say, a week down the line
Advise AGAINST. Don't go longer than a week. Perhaps it may be even wiser to not go that long if you have no particular need to. Several days once in a longer time is fine, but you need somewhat longer period of time between such fasting for your body to regain balance.

      Also, regarding that meal:
      >First meal after fast should be something relatively healthy but light, in small portion.
Something like steamed or cooked vegs would do. Maybe a bit of light broth. Either way, not really a full meal, merely food humble enough to get your stomach start working on something again. Then give it a few hours to process it before trying something more normal. By comparison, if you'll do water fasting for longer and then just stuff yourself, you risk pain, vomiting, shitting yourself if you'll be lucky, literally killing yourself (there were cases like that) if you won't be. For all possible benefits, water fasting does frick with your body a bit.

Also, remember there's also juice fasting - non-sweetened, 100% natural (preferably squeezed yourself) fruit juice doesn't let your body detox and slow down itself as well as if you'd go on just clean, drinkable water but it's also making much easier for you body to keep going as you still bring some nutrients and calories in.

I figured from context but thanks for the input and extra advice!

        >any suggestions
If you're fat enough to do it, go for 41 days and break at night to spite Jesus.

I might be a few pounds overweight but I'm definitely not fat enough to beat out JC's record without some outside assistance lol

Not entirely sure, to be honest. As I mentioned I had a dream in which I was instructed to, and since I hardly ever remember my dreams at all I figured maybe I should listen to this one, at least within reason.

In case someone would take it seriously - don't. You are unlikely to survive and even if you will, severe health issues will be likely. Some proficient mystics were noted to be able to pull something like that but for most regular people it'd be very unhealthy.

There's cases of morbidly obese people who were put on such or even longer fasting, but they were also at the same time given certain nutrients, vitamins etc intravenously through a drip.

When i was younger, i used to fast for as long as 3 days with only water.

It felt great. I don't know if there's any paranormal reason, but you just feel great. I dont feel hungry anymore, and so I was able to eat only when my will wanted (without putting myself at risk).

It's possible, just take it easy, start with one day. Also, when you eat, try to eat food full of proteins and fat (meat).

I'm unable to link it. Otherwise the mods will delete the post and issue a 3-day ban. Alternatively, query for cdf in the catalog's search bar in the upper right. It's the cosmic death fungus general.

Hello fren. My record for water fasting is 17 days. It purifies the body and soul. My advice is that the first 3 days are the worst, after that you become much calmer. Besides your body reacting, your mind will start to wander and dream of food. Ignore it and push through, its the hardest part starting a fast. I would also drink green tea with lemon or apple cider vinegar with water during my fasts, but I don't recommend this to beginners. If this is your first fast, please stick to 3 to 5 days at max to see how your body reacts.

Good advice, thanks fren! I was thinking to stop at 5 days max, so good to see a few recommendations confirming that as a good cap. Appreciate it!

go to the /fast/ threads on EerieWeb for any practical advice. If you have excess body weight go for it - I used to do daily ones longest I did was 2 weeks. Biggest issue you need to worry about is over 4 days refeeding syndrome.

You need to be out in the sun, and doing the most physical work you can for it to work.
    If not, it’s barely fasting

    Fast for 1 day.
    Don't take vitamins without food.
    Then see how you feel.
Maybe you can go a second day.
If you wake up with muscle soreness or headaches, you gotta eat that day, repair your body don't frick around.
Don't cave in and eat because your hungry, eat because you are worried about your health.
    Don't set any stupid goals.
If you go too long without eating your body will atrophy, your muscles will die it's not healthy.
Day 2 or 3 without eating you will probably begin to shit out bile, it's not healthy.
There is nothing healthy about what your doing.

Only drink water, your body doesn't need anything else. Don't believe the doctors they are used to keep us sick.
If you want to water fast half the week every week then you need to do proper study.
Many good ways to fast but only water is amazing, it's so simple that people feel like something should be added.
