Atomic Alchemy

Are there any resources available to learn about the alchemical nature of the material world down to the atomic level? Such as alchemical texts or discussions that take into account our modern understanding of the atomic structure and chemical bonding and how that relates to the classical understanding of the natural elements and their platonic forms and such? Thanks, this is something I'm very interested in.

    The pursuit of the philosophers stone in the modern day is aided by science like this. This is the key to creating it, changing the metaphors of old alchemical text and relating them to scientific phenomenon. Once you figure out what prima materia is, you can extrapolate the technique needed to create the stone.

      You can't create a 4th-dimensional object with a 3rd-dimensional understanding. The Philosopher's Stone is very similar in concept to the fifth element; Spirit. This implies an abstract purification of soul. There's a reason people who think they can physically create a metaphor are historically looked down upon by real alchemists.

            no, the 4th dimension would be as depth is to a flatworld
            it has nothing to do with subjective squishy bs or else it would have no bearing on material reality

      No, you don’t understand. You are giving OP real chemistry.
      What OP wants is something that lines up with old alchemy and modern chemistry.
      Of course he can’t get that because one of these systems works and the other is larptastic.

            It seems to me that the recipe, from what i gather, requires refining a substance containing "life energy" Refining it via heat, splitting into two parts, solid and liquid, and then combining them again, while using silver and gold as a ferment to create the stone. Have i done it? no. So i won't say thats the recipe. But it should be damn close.

            Im also of the opinion that creating the stone is actually really simple, which is why the philosophers kept it so secret. If everyone knew the recipe anyone could make it.

            I also believe that alchemy is a literal science. "As above, so below" literally reconcisles the metaphorical and physical views of alchemy as both being true, as the creation of the stone is a physical metaphor or the spiritual journey one goes on. The stone is real.

            I don't think the subtance matters, as long as it contains "life energy". The question is, what is life energy? Science has knows that energy and mass are interchangeable. E=mc2. Mass is energy, so theoretically mass could contain "life energy".

    There is a guy I think associated with theosophism that tried to remote view all of the elements of the periodic table at the subatomic level.

    He has a book with a bunch of drawings of how they appeared to him and how the different elements are different and similar and so on...

    Cool to look at, so much theosophy stuff is moronic tripe though I never really took it seriously or did much more than skim it an look at the cool drawings.

    Also, several alchemical texts from antiquity up until the 1700s are about the atomic nature of matter. Just a completely different way of looking at it from the modern.

    In their view, different types of matter were distinct from different "seeds," there was the seed of animals/man, the seed of vegetables and plants, and the seed of minerals and metals.

    The elements were transformed or transmuted by the "seed." The "seed" being of a fifth element, and making use of the other four elements to multiply itself. Just like the seed of an animal growing in the womb, with the four elements being supplied to it, or the seed of a plant growing in the ground in the elements that it requires, water, earth (food), air, and fire (warmth).

    The idea of alchemy, was to purify and multiply the "seed" of metals. The alchemical processes in the old books are all related to what naturally happens to minerals and "earth" naturally, in and under the ground.

    Anyway, their view of atomic structure was very different than ours, to them, the elements of the periodic table all had the same kind of thing at their core, but had been transformed into different states of matter by different "seeds." Seeds of animals, vegetables and minerals, transforming matter as needed for growth.

    There's more to it, I am simplifying hundreds of books written over thousands of years. Their knowledge of "chemical bonding" and stuff related to more classical chemistry was much more limited and confusing, and often deliberately so. Referring to substances as "philosophical mercury" or salt or vitriol whatever, to describe things that were not regular mercury or salt or vitriol, in order to confuse people while hinting at their true meaning. When they say "salt," for instance, they do not mean regular table salt most of the time, they are hinting at something like saltpeter or periclase or something that has characteristics like salt, but is not simple salt as most people think of it.

    >Such as alchemical texts or discussions that take into account our modern understanding of the atomic structure and chemical bonding
    You have to do a really deep dive into alchemy to find this stuff.
    Three sources with relevant philosophies:
    HumanResonance.org
    The Golden Chain of Homer
    Philosopher's of Nature.
    Complete Works of Paracelsus

    So that's like 6 months of reading for yah.

    H = fire
    N = air
    O = oxygen
    C = earth

    Na = animal fire (evolutionary force)
    K = plant fire (evolutionary force)
    Sb = metallic ferment
    S = oxygen of the mineral kingdom

    Au = soul of the perfected fire element
    Ag = soul of the perfected water element
    Hg = soul of the perfected air element
    Pb, Sb = soul of the earth element

    N, P, As, Sb are the ferments of the various kingdoms.

    If you want the science of alchemy to come alive, and to feel the energies the alchemists were talking about, you need to take the alchemical medicines, and you need to have a deep initiation into the planetary levels of consciousness, and the elemental energies.
    You need to develop your psychic sensitivity sufficiently that you can pick up a mineral, metal or tincture, and in a minute of meditation pick up tons of information about it's energetic correspondences, and all that fun stuff.

    Now just a few simple proofs of these correspondences (many more will be revealed with study and practice):
    Sun is composed primarily of Hydrogen = Fire
    Air primarily is N-itrogren
    Water is primarily O-xygen
    Carbon binds them together in organic chemistry.

    Acids = Fire = abundance of hydrogen
    Bases = Water = abundance of oxygen
    There is a trick with loading gemstones with Water Element energy using base solutions, and similar trick to load the Fire element using acids - and if you can detect these subtle energies, then there is hope you won't be a wanker who philosophizes about things he cannot even sense.

    >atomic structure
    >chemical bonding
    >platonic forms
    Alchemists don't use these terms.
    They have a different philosophical framework, and they are seeking different goals.
    I don't really get what OP is asking other than trying to mishmash three unrelated systems.

    Well here's one big difference between alchemists and modern science:
    Alchemist believe that everything has a soul, and that there is a universal intelligent lifeforce that can give birth to any kingdom of life (animal, plants, fungi, bacterias, minerals, etc)

    So alchemists are more concerned with setting up the conditions for this universal lifeforce to grow, than they are with isolating pure chemical compounds. They are celestial gardeners, using techniques that often looks like cooking.
