An open minded science guy here, if the spiritual world actually exists then why haven't anyone done a definitive demonstration to show that in this day and age?

Surely if you have a super natural power you can walk into MIT and ask them to set up a control experiment. And if you successfully show that the spiritual world exists then you will be rich and famous.

The spiritual world is in the mind. Science doesn't know too much about that because it deals with the physical aspect in the brain. To make matters worse, the current medications tend to do a lot of harm to the spiritual self. Science is really lagging behind a lot of knowledge.

I understand that but surely there must be a way to show that the spiritual world is real right? More people would be interested in this stuff if they know the world is not merely materialistic

You think people believe I see picrel 100 times a day based on the emotions and energies around me, and how it changes color when the atmosphere changes? You really think a scientist wants to research me and this guy Jan Marinus?

There are far more powerful/absurd powers out there, but being labeled mentally ill is very dangerous for your work, relationships, and ultimately, your life. After "falling through" the system with "unbelievable lies" you will be stripped of any credibility. I respect your normie way of thinking but this world is not what it seems.

It's hardly normie. I've only ever heard one person ever say that the spirit is the mind. Very few people recognize this because very few people study other languages. One good example is Japanese, which calls the mind "seishin" (精神) or essential spirit. There are other examples, but this one stands out to me.

I studied Sanskrit and know a little Japanese, I am aware of such words that cannot be translated directly, they also occur in Sanskrit and the Vedas. But it is irrelevant. Un-knowing is more important than material knowledge. Only in our dreamless and formless state are we allowed glimpses of beyond.

But there's not a single guy crazy enough to do it? Like no one out there just say say frick it, I'll show the world the truth?

I've heard a lot of ghost stories or stories with some kind of spiritual power and it's hard to believe that they're all not true but at the same time without definitive evidence you can't make a conclusion.

There are multiple. But they are incoherent and not believed. Most sensible people realize that there is nothing to gain with going public or science. Only a few walk the commercial line between the spiritual, the believability and truth, for example Wim Hof, who is measured extensively on breaking human boundaries, but also seems to withhold some things from the public. If you watch the unveiling of his wifes memorial he says (suicide... Or whatever happened that day...) There is always more than you can go public with.

You're right about external proof. The James Randi Educational Foundation offered a million dollars for proof of any paranormal abilities. All the fakes and frauds like Uri Geller either didn't enter the challenge or cowardly jumped ship before attending.

So the closest we have of any paranormal proof is probably some monks changing body temp verifiably or Wim Hof with-standing cold or whatever. Which isn't necessarily paranormal at all.

Professional mediums are most likely all frauds or don't understand their very unstable abilities at all which makes them frauds. And they make money and get rich without scientific backing.

That's true aswell. Most spiritual experience is internal, non-verifiable and anecdotal and that while compelling and surely profound for the individual doesn't hold up to scientific scrutiny for all of mankind.

No, science is based and amazing and the paranormal people and scientists should work together and admit their limitations to each other.

Cringe like Geller buys huge mansions (pic related) thanks to gullible people but gets btfo by science and people like Randi. You know Randi was a magician, too, and could've fooled the world and grifted for that money but instead he exposed the fakes.

This guy said it better than me:

There is nothing funnier than watching mediums fail in long compilations or go ghost before proving themselves because most of them are just greedy, spineless grifters and an aversion to science aids them sometimes.

When it is measurable it stops being paranormal, now you're saying that it has to remain paranormal even after understanding it's nature, which is moronic circle logic meant to always have a way to discard extraordinary claims, if true it wasn't that special, if false then woo science wins again.
Before Win Hof if I told you I could fight back against disease with only my breathing you would call bullshit and so would the homosexual on your pic, but now that it was proven to be true you will just close your eyes and act like it was obvious all along and not proof that the limits of current science are not as hard as you would like to believe.

I've asked the homosexuals that claim to practice magic for the simplest repeatable ritual that has a perceivable outcome, with a willingness to do whatever is necessary to properly do the ritual.
And you get nothing. It's just homosexuals reading old books and doing nonsense with the idea that they're somehow vaguely affecting the world at large or that their inner monologue or imagination are actually some other entity speaking to them.

The problem is how we define things mostly and that sciences deal with effects rather than primary causes. But if you understand the 'spiritual' as an old way of understanding psychology and informatics much in the same sense that alchemy & astrology were earlier understandings of chemistry & astronomy.
Information is more animated than most realize and is a becoming very advanced as we move towards a computational understanding of physics over a purely mathematical one.

So I would postulate that if physicalism is true and the universe is best understood as computational that includes our experiences. That's implied assumptions of physicalism and computational physics.

A lot of people don't like to think that dreams, visualization, psychedelics and NDEs all go to the same 'place' to different a degree. That our imaginations are indeed physical that obey the laws of nature, rather than a pre-informatics of the 'magic confabulation machine'.

They're interested in getting prestige, money, a pad on the bank, not having to leave school, scratching an intellectual itch, having their self image as smart being validated, and be told their right.

Most people have no interest in having their whole world view crumble, as it is massively destabilizing to the psyche.

Anon there is something called Logos and Gnosis. Logos is knowledge built by experiment and and testing, gnosis is knowledge only gained by direct experience which is what spiritual knowledge is. So here are Some Things:

    1. We humans are limited by our material realities, we can not see or prove spiritual concepts. Knowledge in these things comes from subjective experience
    2. The spiritual isn't a cut out model, rather it is a mystery that can only be experienced (meditation, ritual, psychedelics, synchronicity etc). It is through experience that even most scientific like Carl Jung became strong believers in the spiritual

    3. Trying to prove spiritual forces via material means like camera, audio recorder, ghost hunting shows is a severe misunderstanding of the spiritual (which is why they will never work). The spiritual outside of subjective effect, cannot be detected by material means. Julius Evola, one of the most influential traditionalists of the 20th century, actually hated spiritual objective proof mongering via material concepts. He rightfully argued that "magic"/sprirtual comes from experience first, and theories worked as a verbal reduction for communication when experience couldn't be provided. Even Plato one of the greatest spiritual philosophers of the west got his ideas by practicing Orphic rituals

So Anon, stop over thinking and being lost in mental masturbation and theories. Choose a practice, either do psychedelics or try meditation, maybe join a group with rituals. Spirit cannot be found in theoretical models. Also read "Sun and Steel" by Yukio Mishima, in his book he tells how the greatest knowledge isn't spoken but experienced and this is coming from a successful novelist. This is one of the faults of the modern world, we tell people to take empty thoughts without experience as superior to phenomena that can't be described in words, but makes infinite sense to those who've felt/experienced it.
