Witches and plastic so fantastic?

I’m casting an abundance ritual. If you practice witchcraft or the occult I want to know your opinion on using plastic in your practice. 15 seconds of googling says it’s the “most unmagical” substance in the world. Also here’s a pic of a coin I found I think it’s pretty cool.

No this is a Plastica Mystica thread. Did someone tear the sign down? Who sent you? I’m never selling.

I'm not sure what your mental model of magic is, but if you're trying to appease gods or work with some kind of entities you should probably use the best materials you can reasonably get. The ancient Babylonians would use substitutes for things like gems, but always preferred the real thing if possible. That said, if plastic is being used to do something that other materials simply cannot do, including being shiny and flexible at the same time (), there is no reason not to use it. It is not "cursed".

These tools aren’t necessarily for myself mind you and taking old recycled materials like plastic and repurposing them does take a lot of time, concentration and effort. I wouldn’t call them a labor of love but the intention of turning nothing into something does have some sort of esoteric value doesn’t it?

all petroindustrial products are tainted, fossil fuels are cursed

Lol, oil doesn’t come from dead dinos. Thats a manipulation lol.
Under the ground which is comprised mostly of dead titans is the mantle, in the mantle is immense heat and pressure, oil is just hydrocarbons, these hydrocarbons are made by carbon molecules combining together under the aforementioned heat and pressure, because they are lighter than the molten rock that surrounds them, they bubble up to your surface. This is why as oil is consumed by one of the many petrochemical acquisition projects around the world, the well seemingly goes dry but if you return in 50-70 years there is oil posited there again.

It is totally fine to use plastic tools in magic. The reason why is that the power comes from the mind and doing the rituals anchors the connections. The material objects just help in that and are secondary.

That matches up with what I’ve been reading. I wouldn’t call them a crutch but they can assist in getting into the right headspace? I think it’s a very underused material. But then you have petro-anon over here saying it’s cursed. I would guess if I asked a practicing witch to choose between using a crystal over a piece of plastic for let’s say a pendulum, with all else being equal, they would choose the crystal. I wonder what what the vibration/ structure of plastic is… like compared to moon crystal…

You're correct to chose crystal over plastic for that. However, the guy saying that petrochemical products are cursed probably can't back up that statement. Petrochemical products come from plant material that has been changed by heat and pressure. I don't see how that is cursed.

          Because MAN made plastic.

Do you use anything with brass, bronze, iron, or steel? Are these naturally occurring materials or MAN made materials?

Because metal alloys are simply heated up to mix other metals together. Plastics use cHeMiCaLs!

The actual material doesn't matter as much as the shape/form. Of course some materials will be better than others, the specific rations are what is hard to get right.

I get that it’s man made but when I look at the chemical formula of HDPE plastic, it’s a string of carbon with two hydrogen atoms as a nutsack. So it’s a ssssssnake of carbon. We’re a carbon based lifefoam and isn’t hydrogen the lightest and most abundant element in the universe? There’s got to be some mystical spookery to exploit in that.

So, EerieWebence bro. If I would to look at plastic or whatever material to the chemical level would it be shaped like your picture?

Will and Intention are the matter of magic, not physical matter.

Most atomic models you see posted are abstractions. The most accurate view is a cloud of particles that form into a circular wave pattern (dips and valleys when viewed from 'above', but actually a spherical shell) similar to a droplet hitting water. The 'snake/nutsack' that was posted is flexible and lays randomly like paper or nonwoven fabric. The actual appearance HDPE would be a string of unconnected luminous beads.

        >Petrochemical products come from plant material that has been changed by heat and pressure. I don't see how that is cursed.

The fallen world is an ouroboros of shit and death. From a 'death' standpoint, plastic is no worse then alloyed metal for most workings. Gelatin from slaughtered cow bones is so processed and purified through mundane means and minds it barely registers above baseline.

Hi, as someone that has successfully done it I recommend paper. Specifically, paper that already has printed out the bills that you want for real.
Mix it with real bills, the amount you want to generate, and then play with it with the family. Like, play poker or something with it.
Then, you slowly replace the fake bills with real ones. Eventually all of it will be replaced and whatever sum you started with will become real.
The only regret you'll have is not going for a larger sum.

Thanks but the abundance ritual I’m going for is taking “worthless” things and turning them into useful things. Ie recycled plastic to planchettes, runes, sigils, altar bowls etc. Yours sounds good and practical though! Glad it worked out for you my friend.

Also, I wanted to share with y’all some interesting things I’ve learned while looking into this topic. If we take quartz for example, the composition and structure is a continuous framework of tetrahedra (each silicon atom bonded to four oxygen atoms), forming a hexagonal pattern.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic polymer composed of repeating units of ethylene. Its chemical formula is (C2H4)n, where "n" represents a large number of repeating units. The structure of HDPE is characterized by long chains of carbon atoms, with each carbon atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. This linear structure contributes to HDPE's strength, and durability.

So plastic is repeating, resembles a line or chain, strong and durable. I’m not going to pretend I know anything about what the metaphysical properties of plastic are or aren’t. But if someone more knowledgeable on the topic can expand on this I would appreciate it.
