Why is saturn associated with time?

Why is saturn, both the planet, and its mythology commonly associated with time and not the sun?

Are there any books, videos, papers, etc that provide more in-depth insight into how ancient astrologers perceived time and space or how they perceived celestial influence?

Saturn is associated with time because he was seen as ruler of the zodiac i.e. the ring the planets appear to make when orbiting our plane, One Ring to Rule Them All. Because the ancients based their entire lives on the agricultural calendars, which in turn were based upon the zodiacal lunar or solar months, the ruler of that system became the ruler of Time and was associated with the primary industry of time, the Harvest, because he ruled the literal method of tracking them. The Egyptians did the same, they just called him Osiris and associated their seasons and zodiac with the rising and falling of the Nile to fertilize their crops.

Saturn's Anus is the gateway to the 4th dimension lower, through the gate you access the 4th dimension lower to connect to the hive mind that helps you to better understand the higher dimensions. From 4th lower to 4th higher, where in the 4th higher dimension there is a higher hive mind ruled by a tyrant that is not concerned with anything you have to offer. You can't talk to this Tyrant, you can't interact with him, he is the divine masculine overlord. He decides if you are innocent enough to go to the 5th dimension. If you are permitted to go to the 5th dimension, you must then go through the process of adapting your eye sight to the 5th dimension because it is improper to this 3rd Dimension. You can adapt to the eyes in about 2 weeks, and during your adaptation you are being healed of your flesh wounds, your body condition is being made new. They have the technology to cure every disease and heal every wound. Our 3rd dimension hospital is hopelessly and ridiculously determined to cull the population and not help them heal at all. But in the 5th dimension there is plenty of room, plenty of space to live, everyone gets healed and there is no evil ruling the decisions of mankind like money or greed. After the 5th dimension, you learn of the 6th 7th 8th and 9th dimensions and what the differences are between them. After you have learned all the lessons you are being taught over the higher dimensions, you can choose if you want to go to the 10th 11th or 12th to finish your training. The 12th dimension is the last solid dimension with which you can interact in a time space solid host body. After the 12th dimension everything gets weird. All the way up to the 250th dimension weird gets even weirder.

Weird in a way that it gets more basic and abstract ? Everything is just basic shapes ? No thoughts or voice ?

Saturn's slow orbit reminds us of cyclical returns and passages that mark the living and dying of all gestalts within temporal manifestation. Its ringed silhouette echoes the ouroboranic nature of birth-in-death, death-in-birth that makes and unmakes what our limited perception interprets as transciency. Rightly is Saturn termed the "Lord of Karma and of Time," for it is through Time's passage that karmic fruition comes to be, and under Saturnine energies that we reap what once we sowed. The stature it holds as Great Teacher arises from its role in etching life's lessons deep through the flow and ebb of conditioned existence across the river of Time.

      >Lord of Karma and of Time
Not quite. Shani holds domain over the "punishing" aspects of karma. He works for Yamaraja, sort of like an executioner but doesnt kill.

Romans have two gods associated with time.
Saturn is associated with cycles and seasons. His brother, Janus, is associated with beginnings, endings, and change.

      >saturn is also named kali
      Source?
I was looking around and there is some connection between Saturn and Kali in things like Mahavidya, but a lot of what I'm seeing is that saturn is also known as "blackish" aka krishna/kali and kali is also a conjugation of kala, time.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shani
      >Other names
      >Shanishvara, Chhayasutha, Pingala, Kakadhvaja, Konastha, Babhru, Roudhrantaka, Shanescharam, Sauri, Manda, Krishna, Pipplayshraya, Raviputram
      https://www.shreemastrology.com/post/intro-to-tantric-astrology
      >Saturn -Iccha: In the Mahavidya system, Maa Kali is represented by the planet Saturn as she is the Shakti of Time (Kala meaning time) and time is the only thing that cannot be controlled by anything.
And an unbacked claim of Saturn being the planet of Kalaratri.

Pretty much. Saturn keeps the ego in check. It reminds us of our past mistakes, allowing us to plan things more meticulously and proceed with caution. It tempers the ego and indulgence. It reminds us that while we may be gods, so is everyone else, so treat them fairly or else.

If you watch Saturn move through the Zodiac, its a good way of demarcating life events, because it takes 29 years to make a complete sidereal cycle.

          someone failed history
Roman mythology was originally Etruscan, it was later that Romans mixed in Greek myths.
You have no clue what you are talking about.

            Yeah, that person is you.

Etruscans came from Anatolia originally, they are genetically Anatolian. Majority of their gods are Babylonian in origin. Same as Minoan ones. Which later Indo-European Hellenes took as their own. Those gods being the Titans.

Titans which don't exist in Roman mythology

            Anonymous

Because they didn't take them from the Greeks, like they did with already established Greek pantheon. Romans were copying everything from Greeks.

Saturn/Chronos is a Titan in origin. An agriculture deity from Middle East. Not Europe.
