Paranormal means outside of the normal spectrum so it's not cheap but costly.

But a lot of /x/ people believe they can interact with, observe, or produce paranormal phenomena with little or no setup. That means that, for certain classes of paranormal phenomena, simple equipment can theoretically be used to enhance such experiences in a similar way that AR does for normal phenomena.

No, they don't actually believe. They LARP about bullshit because convincing strangers online of things makes them feel better about their empty lives.

    >every human on earth has a high quality video camera in their pocket that you can pull from your pocket and start filming with within a few seconds
    >literally every 'ufo' and paranormal thing ever 'photographed' is a grainy blurry unfocused pile of shit

Have you ever tried to quickly take a photo with your phone? Phone cameras suck. They require time to focus on things just to snap a photo. If you try to take a picture without letting it focus, then you get blurry garbage. If anything, I'm more wary of anything too sharp. Video editing tools are very easy to get and AI can even do things for you.

Conventional cameras are much less sensitive than the human eye. That puts a hard limit on what they can capture. Unless the object is very bright and stationary, the result is usually a blurry mess.

Those are most likely fake. Are there people with STEM backgrounds that are interested in paranormal phenomena, apart from UFOs? It's strange that there are no further attempts in creating paranormal technology.

Some of the stuff I found are electronic voice phenomena, electroculture, and free energy generation crap. But, none of these ever had a systematic study done or they're outright scams. Their explanations are either complete woowoo using made-up terms or they're ignoring conventional explanations.

Most human scientific advancement today is completely at the whim of funding and grants from governments and corporations, and they generally ignore funding requests if there isn’t an immediate obvious way to turn some research into a marketable product that solves a major problem or otherwise has the potential to rapidly make money, so speculative “fringe science” and validating the scientific truths behind a lot of paranormal phenomena just isn’t a high priority for the suits that cut the checks. I’m also sure big pharma doesn’t want people to figure out how to accelerate their own healing, or read minds, or do your own psychosurgery because it cuts into their market. That and also a lot of paranormal stuff invalidates a lot of major and commonly held axioms in the psychology and psychiatry fields.

If some magical authority came out tomorrow and said “telepathy is real and everyone can now do it with a little practice” then everyone currently on meds for schizophrenia, depression, bipolar etc would probably be pissed.

Because there isn't any "paranormal phenomena" in existence. The shit isn't real.

This goes entirely into conspiracy land, but what makes you think there haven't been attempts?

Knowledge of nazis actively attempting that kind of thing places attempts into the last century. And they never really stopped, if you give credit to info about the USA's various programs.

If you mean any serious independent research, then tell me who has that kind of money and isn't somehow already in the right circles.

Everyone will be able to see what you do outside at all times soon

If aliens visit our planet, they are much much beyond the realm of being able to be detected by us if they don't want to be. If they're here from another solar system, they can travel tens of light years. Can you imagine where humanity will be technologically in 100 years? How about 1,000? How about 50,000? How about 2,000,00? How about 100,000,000? The possibilities are endless when you have good discernment.

On the other hand, if conscious non-material entities exist, I imagine it would be excruciatingly difficult to prove their existence in a scientific sense. I certainly can't think of any way to do so.

Also, the CIA has funded research into magic. They're not idiots, but they're willing to look into avenues the confident would write off to accomplish their goals.

I didn't say that magic is real.

I can see them doing it because a belief in magic could potentially confuse the population and make them easier to control in some cases, and I can see why they'd do it to make money too. The end of my statement implied they were seriously interested in magic- I shouldn't have made that statement.
