I could go on and on. Recently a few invisible beings, (not "shadow people, think Predator shimmer) saying they feared this would happen at the last moment, then choking me. "Do you believe now? Explain this" one of the men asked. They were just regular people, and even hat a pet dog. Fun sleep paralysis things.

I’ve literally never had a nightmare before. I feel kind of bad when people talk about theirs because I want to be able to empathize with them and be supportive but I don’t really have any frame of reference besides maybe imagining myself in a scary movie, but that doesn’t really work for me because I almost never think scary movies are scary.

It’s difficult for me to imagine what experiencing a nightmare is like, because whenever anything bad or even just slightly annoying happens in my dreams I immediately wake up. The worst dreams I have are usually just extremely absurdist nonsense. The scariest thing I can really conceptualize is probably just solipsism but I don’t believe that’s a real thing.

Maybe I’m just fricked up. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I get nightmares where nothing happens that would scare an awake person. I would feel terrified in the dream for no reason, sometimes of mundane things.

I also get dreams that do that with sadness or funniness instead of fear.

I just woke up from one. I was in a shopping mall, talking to my mom on my phone, when abruptly she interrupts with, "they've come for me. They'll come for you, too." Then silence. I was shouting into the phone trying to get a response for what felt like a minute before I awoke...

Rapture is a good thing, it is not death. It feels like getting plugged in to a sky server, I can't wait to meet you all in the cloud. It is where you go when you dream, unless you are having naughty dreams because of poor lifestyle.

I kind of don't have them anymore. Just stopped after a while, no idea why. Now they're just incredibly bizarre and extremely real-feeling dreams. All nightmares stopped since the one about the wheel.

I wouldn't say i have nightmares, but I often have apocalypse dreams. Sometimes it's zombies, others it's just societal collapses, and I often end up getting chased, but I'm never afraid.

Also the locations are always the same, but distorted into something familiar, but not completely recognizable.

I've had a recurring apocalypse nightmare narrative since single-digit age. It began as a zombie apocalypse of sorts (before I really knew what a zombie was), and evolved over the years to be a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland narrative. By that time the majority of the "zombie" problem had been dealt with, but there had been nuclear fallout at some point along the way. In my last nightmare in this narrative, scouts had returned to the camp and had informed me that, while there was plenty of fresh water nearby, it was all irradiated and therefore unfit to drink.

Woke up in a cold sweat from that. First time I had truly been emotionally & mentally shaken from a nightmare.

I had a thing where a tall girl in a nun's robe would randomly appear in unrelated dreams over the span of half my life. She had a very strange appearance, being a head taller than me and very gaunt and lanky, her face was covered with black dreadlocks and she had a robe like picrelated, except with less white details. She would pull me out from whatever i was doing, even sex, and make me look at her, to which i instantly felt everything around me dissapear and all my worries and fear and shame would dissipate. I felt so helpless yet so understood, like a newborn. I felt that i had nothing to hide from her, or rather that i couldn't. She would hug me, hold my hands and pray with me through tears, which always made me earnestly cry in the dream and when i woke up. It's such a strange feeling, like the deepest parts of my soul had confronted me face to face. One time she purposefully burned her hands with a lighter and made me watch. She found it funny when i turned away. Another time she talked to me in my old kitchen, after which she calmly walked out of the window to her death. I reached out and grabbed her, only for her to slip out of her robe and fall into the street below. I stared at her shattered body and at the night sky which turned to rain. I felt so incredibly sad but also at peace somehow, like she had done everything she needed to and just left. I already asked here a while ago, but I want more opinions, am i being visited? Is this an angel? My guardian angel? A demon? Some deity, or astral projection, or a strange psychic leech? I never got to ask her directly.
