Either he had a choice to be God or he had no choice.

thats not how it happens, its more like

    >you wonder inside yourself "Why is X this, why does X happen"
    >that gets into a web of
    >if this, then that means
    >if this, then that means
    >if that then its has to be because
    >"I am God"

obviously human solipsism is an ego trap, God already paid the price for us, thats why we exist like we do, as separate beings with free will

the big God created us, we had no choice, God choose to create us

to make us suffer, but why? to share eternity with us, to be in communion with us, but our souls, the soul of this universe is not matured yet, it is in the process of, that process is what we call suffering

because from a gestating universe, emerges a potential infinity of future god-like being, not only one, we are here learning the value of existing, of one another, of suffering, because to be in eternal communion with God, you need to WANT to exist, you must LOVE existing with all your being, we are developing that.

The angel around God are on fire, literally on fire, but their love of the presence of God is so great, that they WANT to be on fire, see what I mean

Sorry but I was asking whether God had a choice in being God. I didn't ask for a narrative on the trials of existence or descriptions of burning Angels. Did God choose to be God, or was it an inherent state?

Gods transcends choice, its meaningless, everything is meaningless in front of God, all of our concepts

I choose to live, and God helps me to choose to live and see the immensely good things about life

asking "does God this or that?" will always have a human interpretation, always, noone can truly tell you nothing about God, its beyond us! I can approximate with my understanding, but it will always carry my tint

sorry if you want perfection of answer, maybe you should reflect a bit on why do you want to know those things about God?

            Anonymous

I'm sorry but saying that it's meaningless and that God transcends our mortal understanding seems like a convenient way to dodge the question. So God transcends choice because he just is God and beyond us or are we just saying that because it's easier than picking an answer.

its not about "dodging the question"!!! you little Black person, why are you so obtuse????

this universe did not choose to be, the physics will be public knowledge soon

that does not mean an external being didnt choose to create us, and whether that freaking being chose or not, or why did it chose

you little annoying wannabe smartasses cant handle the answers to your question

I will tell you the truth, there is no God, only you, the destiny of consciousness, aka you, is eternal timeless crystalized awareness

this is our fate, your fate, my fate, we are destined to "hell", are you happy now you little shit?

You could have believed in God, now you are God, you little prick

            enjoy eternity you little shit

dude, you are prove consciousness is eternal and its you

this is infinity we are talking about, the universe can recourse 10 quadrillion times until it comes to absolute perfection, and when that happens, its will be you!! its will be you aware in that eternal being

cant you see it? YOU ARE INEVITABLE!! you already exist!! you consciousness is reading this!!! dont you see???

sooner or later you will come back, and for you, it will be instantaneous, you are eternal

you are God, after this life, you will awake in a more perfect body, and after that life, even in a more perfect body etc, until you awake in a form and wont even turn off, that wont ever sleep

this is the inevitable destiny of consciousness

I'm not God or I would have a desirable life. I wouldn't be getting abused every day if I was God because there would be nobody powerful enough to abuse me. Nobody would be able to impose their will on me if I was God and yet other people's wills are imposed on me and I get abused every single day.

did you not read the plot ?

            see this post

the plot of the movie is that, Jesus being God and all, even if he has amnesia, his God power leaks

and he is "accosted" by weird funny coincidences that put him in hilarious situations where is a ridiculed, so his resentful atheism grows and grows

but as his frustration grows, also the degree in which his Godness leaks, so the coincidences and syncronicities get progressively more hilarious and weird

      but
this is the first step, thats why its called the original sin

Jesus is the redemption of this, Jesus is

      >"I am God"
      >not I as my persona, but I as "awareness"
      >my temporary fake "solipsism" is but a small price to contribute
      >the best that I can do for existing is to live a life based around others and not myself
      >I am not me, I am dead, I am now God, to understand, to love, to serve and help, not to control and dominate

this is the narrative of existence, the holy cycle

you might say "so Satan is Jesus"? and the answer is....no,,,,but YOU are Satan and Jesus, both are stages in your development and maturity

It's more complicated than that. To call yourself God is an illusion of the ego (I notice it's very common on this board), but to understand that you are an emanation of God, like rays of the sun or leaves on a great tree, that's the real truth. If you yourself are interested in this and not just discrediting the notion of divinity being within all men, then you may find it constructive to meditate on a point with no defined magnitude.

God is not a tyrant, and being in communion can bring unimaginably awesome and wonderful experiences, but its not easy, God wont force you to exist, you must want it, and it can have painful parts, however that pain pales to the greatness of love and communion, it even makes it better

the feeling of being understood, have you had that in a conversation? that is but a fraction of communion, communion is understanding and being understood in a infinite spiral of existential love

communion is worth being on fire

you know, that would be a cool movie, in which God, the Second Coming of Jesus, gets hit by a truck and gets amnesia

he wakes up forgetting he is Jesus, instead he takes the personality of people that surround him, annoying liberal atheists

so then Jesus, (under amnesia, annoying atheist persona) becomes a staunch skeptic and spends his day debating people online about why God is stupid etc etc

only to have life take him to the path of realizing he is Jesus and he is God and he has been trying to disprove himself all along

    Good right?

    and you ask

"how can God get hit by a truck?"

easy, since he is Jesus, he still has israeli genes, so he is crossing the street and sees a penny on the asphalt, he gets too distracted by the penny reaching down to pick it up, that the truck catches him off guard

If he does exist in the way Abrahamics claim he does, there were a lot of errors made here.
mf apparently loves us, is omniscient, omnipotent, etc.
Yet he created us knowing we would be imperfect and corruptible or already corrupted from birth, created the devil knowing what he would do, and wanted us to be good yet made the rules of life evil; based entirely on zero sum game theory.

So I like to think the stories told were allegories for real happenings, and that God is not perfect, or all powerful, or all-knowing and is instead an organization of physical beings in a space bureaucracy; trying and succeeding at subjugating and experimenting on us.
