None. "Evil" is expressing power, that is what creates your will. The true evil is weakness, illness.

Is evil just expressing power? What do you mean by that?

      >what are the spiritual consequences of succumbing to evil?
self destruction and slavery to your basest compulsions. everyone struggles with evil in themselves, but you certainly shouldn't give up or move in that direction on purpose.

evil is PRIORITIZING power, not merely expressing or using it. a loving father has power over his children whether or not he has to force them to do anything.

And mindlessly obeying your base urges is weakness.

Restrained power following basic moral principles like not killing children is good. Absolute power with no moral or ethical restrictions is evil. You are absolutely evil when you think you are the good guy but willing to do anything to achieve your goals.

Evil. Most who succumb to evil don't even realize it. If you succumb to evil then you are not gonna be blissful, you will not experience inner peace and serenity, and ultimately you will go to hell.

      >you are not gonna be blissful, you will not experience inner peace and serenity
Cool, so I must not be evil since I feel blissful and peaceful... but I promise you'd consider me evil if you knew me

he said INNER peace and serenity. at the deepest levels of your soul.

you're probably not evil though, you've just identified with your worst qualities and the reason you feel peaceful about it is because you dissociated from the guilt by doing so. it'll catch up to you one day

Besides that Buddha said in the dhammapada evil people are happy as long as their evil doesn't catch up to them so again the other guy is twice right.

I think this world is dualistic by design, and some people are automatically tied to each end of the spectrum. Every time I do or about to do something "evil" I get corrected out in a very odd way. Like if some force is out there making sure that I do "good". Like I will be in a situation where I'm about to say something mean to a person that offended me in some way and a metaphysical force will make sure I don't say it, or if I do I instantly get punished for it. The things that count as evil for me isn't really bad nor "evil" in the true sense of the word. Like if I don't share my food or do something selfish I will get punished. While I give most stuff away or share without repayment, yet I get it back in someway. Like I'm spiritually marked to be the support healer dude.

While other people are pure evil and they get away with it. They do shit that I can't even comprehend and get off scout free. They go around and create hell for those around them on purpose, not lashing out from internal trauma but genuine evil bastards. I think they are actual born from the evil and must do evil to keep the equilibrium of this reality. The most horrific thing is that my whole identity needs to evil to exist so I can be content. If evil didn't exist I wouldn't have value. This world is insane.

You live in a neutral world that is entirely impartial to how you feel at any given time (sorry, socialists).

This neutral impartial world is being run by greedy, materialistic geriatrics that are deathly afraid of losing their worldly power(s) because they sold their humanity in order to be able to reach down and wield that power. But unfortunately Time conquers all, including the hubris of men who believe themselves to be gods. But your actions will be judged, so do the right thing, regardless of whether you are rewarded for it or not: the true reward for the righteous man is righteousness in and of itself. Conviction & discipline, above all else, and humbly before the gods.

Go ahead and be evil if it feels right. You will get to do as much as evil as you want, and you will be rewarded for it. Just remember that you create the rules and the criteria for success. A devil will soon find himself in the company of devils.

Can you explain your thought process and how you came to this realization? This resonates with me because of my work which is in a moral grey area and I have struggled in the past to do what must be done. Thanks.

Good and evil are two poles of identity, you are made up of parts of each and will rest in an equilibrium, being evil is irrelevant spiritually, what matters is having love, and I don't mean moronic hippy love

People who corrupt their own values and become something they are not end up losing their soul in the process, they become less than alive, have the "love" to not do this, be as evil as you like so long as you never betray yourself in such a way

This world is fake and gay, I don't care about it and fully expect the next to be better, while physical gain would be nice, I retain an intact and functional soul, giving me a breadth of love for existence, if not this world

There's been some evil people that evaded consequences their entire life and apparently died peacefully. So I don't think the consequences of evil can be so easily defined, what I will say is that succumbing to evil is also a resignation to a meaningless life. How many "evil" people do you know that found meaning and purpose in life? It's almost as if in resigning oneself to evil an individual lowers themself to a meandering beast wandering the abyss unsure of up or down only capable of acting upon the survival instinct as any sense of rhyme or reason fades away soon enough even their thoughts are confiscated from them and any sense of introspection or contemplation disappears. If you find this disturbing then perhaps it would be wise to reconsider such a "way of living".

Bad. I've done it. Endlessly pursuing a desire that doesn't harm anyone else directly, but does harm me. It just lead to my gradual mental deterioration and immediate karma whenever I tried it. I don't even believe in "karma" the way most people do, but it seems like dumb evil acts just result in bad stuff happening to you.

Then again, it might just be weakness like the other anon said. This desire I was pursuing made me extremely weak, and what I was perceiving as bad karma might just be the results of people seeing that weakness and walking all over me.

Okay fellas, I think it's time to be not so vague. I've been doing negative work on my body, causing myself pain. Alongside it, I've been trying to induce schizophrenia in myself intentionally (not through drugs or extreme sleep deprivation). The motivation is to dominate others, somehow. And to gain some sort of power.

It makes me weak when I do this crap, because obviously being schizo means being mentally weak. And all that pain I cast on my body makes me feel terrible, nauseous, extremely anxious, etc, and therefore physically weak. And I do it on purpose. And wanna know the truth? I'm not a bad guy. I'm just someone who takes advantage of situations. And I took advantage of this one. At a time of extreme stress in my life, I just exploded and created these mental loops for myself (got caught up in my own thoughts, basically, and took advantage of mental vulnerabilities that I had naturally developed through my life, like anyone else).

Maybe deep down I just want an escape. But my mind really was going off the rails on its own at that time, and I decided to take advantage of that and see what happened.

But what makes me "evil" in all of this? Well, for one, hurting myself hurts my family, directly and indirectly, because they care about me, somewhat. Second, I'm part of the system of the world, even if I'm dysfunctional and stupid. Whatever I do will create "ripples" in the fabric of the world, and if those ripples come from a negative source like anger or fear or lust for power or whatever, the effects of it on others will be bad too. Perhaps not in a "physical" way, but in a "spiritual" way.

Why don't I snap out of it? Perhaps it's laziness and fear of change mixed together.

OP whatever "evil" you're facing, the demons literally aren't real and are just familiars spawned by evil buttholes who want to feast on your negative energy. God does love you, and you can even just imagine yourself killing the "demons" to make "the voices" go away. As long as you BELIEVE you're weaker, you will lose.

You won't feel any emotions. You'll only ever know humiliation, shame, and surges or 'hits' that you'd confuse for bliss but you'll find yourself trying to chase each high and you'll crawl to new lows you never could imagine yourself going just to chase each hit. You will never know joy or peace.
