    Master‘s Apostle

The anime My Daemon was nice, though the only realistic things about it are demons having specific innate powers, some of em befriending humans, some humans trying to control em and getting fked over, and even high ranking demons shapeshifting.
Though in the anime daemons are more like pets which doesn’t match reality.

these arent really paranormal, some are but all of them i think youll enjoy.

Ghost Stories. Japanese version sucks, go watch the english dub. Obviously paranormal.
Sewayaki Kitsune No Senko-San if you are a lonely piece of shit and are willing to stoop really fricking low. also its technically paranormal.
Cereal Experinepnm Lain. Paranormal metaverse "what if" type extended ass black mirror shit.
      Black Mirror.
      Love, Death, & Robots.
Lucky Star if you want to get bored watching girls do stupid shit and then watch the actual good part which comes after the main show
      Corey in The House. Just.
K-On! Just kidding, this shit is fricking balls, can't believe it got a movie (first movie with no plot at all, literally nothing happens in it, it's all filler and very mid music!)
      Girls Last Tour. It exists.
Do It Yourself. This show is really, really not that good and also I wouldn't take any advice from it (theres a reason japanese buildings collapse after earthquakes, and its not just God giving those frickers what they deserve.
Barefoot Gen and it's sequel. Legitimately some of the best films I've watched, and I'm not even joking here when I say that. Depending on whether you think chinks have souls or not, you'll either laugh your ass off or cry with this one.
Curious George. Seriously, go get drunk with your friends and watch some of this shit. Oh, wait, I forgot I was on EerieWeb for a sec...
      Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei.
Bridge Kids. You can actually find this one free on Youtube, and it's a pretty recent one too that covers a lot of modern issues regarding white men and their places in society.
Saint Seiya. Paranormal and really, really spooky.
Nanalan. This one's a hard hitter, if you thought Barefoot Gen was a kicker, this one's the shit. Also paranormal.
      Mash. Technically paranormal.

There's a few good shows out there I think.

trying to go off stuff ive thought was actually good or left an impression on me in an /x/ way, and using a pretty broad concept of what qualifies as in general most anime is /x/ which is kind of an interesting topic in and of itself, japs have tons of /x/ lore in their history, but also drawing/cartoons is best medium for such ideas and stories after maybe pure imagination or reading. also a few western / non nipp animated kino thrown in too

        >cant find 1/2 of those
which? all are extremely easy to find and only a couple could be considered obscure. just attach the word anime/animated after. but i'm prepared to spoonfeed you anyway. you could also go to myanimelist and search there more specifically for most of them. unless you mean you can't actually find where to watch them, in which case, skill issue.

Season 1 of The Promised Neverland and the manga. Avoid season 2 it's a dumpster fire.

    Serial Experiments Lain

    Those are my two favorites.

      Excellent recommendations.

      Slow paced:
      Mononoke (not Princess Mononoke)
      Mushi-shi

      Normaler Pace:
      Dororo
      Death Parade
      Stein's Gate
      Hellsing
Shiki (pretty fricking terrible until its second half, gets decent after)

Seconding Paranoia Agent. I was surprised how much I liked that show. I think it works because it's unusual in it's structure, it doesn't need to follow a single protagonist. People are really into the director's other stuff, but I don't like his other stuff.

Loved Mushishi when I read it, it's hard to find series which are so calm and relaxed but still compelling.

This reminded me of Gegege no Kitaro. It's yokai and it's awesome. Fun awesome. This series alone is enough of a reason to want to grow up in Japan in the 60's and 79's. I can imagine myself treating it like I treated Pokemon.

      >vampire hunter d
Read the books dudes. They are actiony so they are fast-paced, easy to read, and D is just a cool dude. There are like 30 books or something, plenty of material to enojy. I don't think the movie versions are good representations of how the stories are.

Yes! Really well written, too. D is a mary sue, but who cares?

It's not super well known to people who weren't weebs in 2003 but my favorite anime is Scrapped Princess and there are definitely some gnostic themes there.

I really like Oshi no Ko (reincarnation, very dark aspects of human nature) and Call of the Night (vampires, late-night shenanigans, kinda succubus like, becoming something other than human).

    The Melancholy of Haruhu Suzumiya

Haruhi is literally The Nobody(from the /ng/ generals) but doesn't know it, and becomes friends with the main character Kyon, and it turns out he's the only one in existence who can influence her will. They create a club and some other students join, who turns out that they were all sent there to keep an eye on Haruhi by different factions, and they all tell Kyon, but not Haruhi. One is a psychic esper from a hidden organization, another is a time travelling girl part of another organization from the future, and the third one is a female human biodroid, created by and sent to earth by this vague far away alien superintelligence to watch over Haruhi.

I like the show because it's a mystery of romcom, comedy, drama, and sci-fi. Kinda philosophical themed and feels very /x/. English dub is also probably better than the sub.
