That scene in gravity’s rainbow where that lady shits in that guys mouth and makes him eat it is pretty well written.

This guy, JJ and DFW all have books I kinda want to read knowing them from lit and I have researched them all.
Yet I don't read them, they get uncomfortably memed by current culture. DFW has his own biopic and is probably the most memed and Pynchon is memed in The Simpsons and recently in the movie 'knives out' I've heard. It's so artificial, are these guys super popular in liberal arts degrees so Hollywood writers meme them for brownie points? Rian Johnson made the last jedi so I doubt he is even intelligent enough to read fantasy YA, yet he memes Pynchon. Leaves a bad taste, sorry I suppose I shouldn't let that keep me away from reading them.

      Huh

pynchon is the last big WASP boomer author (besides maybe updike) and DFW was the last big gen Z author. more of a cultural epoch kinda thing. I liked DFW's essays, but don't care for his books. I don't care for pynchon's anything
