The cope has ruined the experience.

I think I had a fairly normal experience from normie tier esoteric shit and then graduating to falling down the rabbit hole, but but goddamn is there so much bullshit you have to sort through.

> Be me
> Be raised in a weird sect of evangelical Christianity
> Hermetic concepts, Nephilim, metaphysics and the like are all regularly discussed as legitimate concepts
> Be introduced to a friend of a friend who ended up breaking away from the faith but still interacts with the group in certain regards
> We hit it off well, and after a few years and encountering other people like my friend I realize that there is a lot more than just the christian faith that I should be paying attention to
> Get sucked down various rabbit holes for years, sometime in the middle of this I discover and absorb as much /x/ tier content as I can
> End up doing copious amounts of research into topics such as mk ultra, nephilim, the esoteric origins of abrahamic religions etc
> Find out about esoteric psychology and metaphysics and all of the ancient thinkers etc
> Start buying their books and reading what they have to say/watching videos on them
> They point out clear and obvious pitfalls that I notice many people I'm around have fallen into
> Realize that most individuals in most esoteric communities are nothing more than normies with a flashy color of paint
> Realize that the occult is self occulting, and that most people would rather rationalize already held wrong beliefs instead of changing their beliefs
> Realize that if you go down this road, you're doing so alone, no one will help you, and if they say they can help you, they probably are going to mislead you
> People dont have ideas, Ideas have people.

      > And if I claim to be a wise man, well
      > It surely means that I don't know

At this point I dont know. I have yet to find anyone I can consider to be an authoritative source or reference in the modern age when it comes to this stuff, hell, even many of the ancients didn't consider themselves to be authoritative, they mostly just postulated theories and ideas.

I'm just really tired of normies using esoteric shit as a means of coping for their very normie tier lives. I'm tired of people larping. I'm not upset, I'm just tired, and it genuinely gets discouraging.

Also realize this applies to science too.

Many scientific theories are models of reality and not completely perfect nor applicable to everything...yet science still has made it's marj on the world.

This too applies to the occult, it's just much more "hidden" (heh see what I did there)

You got Rasputin, John Dee, Ronald Reagen's astrologer, Baba Vanga and more who have used the occult to great effect and impact the world, not just themselves.

Do you get what I'm trying to convey?

As someone who is also somewhat of a stem nerd I have essentially thrown out every theory and paradigm that I cannot directly apply to my life and my surroundings. That applies to both my work and my esoteric practice (unless I find something interesting that I want to study). If it is not applicable or useful it is probably wrong. Ik that isnt the best method of learning, but at the moment its what has allowed me to stay mostly sane and overcome the bullshit.

That's good but if you are feeling discouraged just remember there is a lot you can do with the esoteric...of course this doesn't just apply to the esoteric but to science and politics and more.

I understand how you feel regarding the discouragement. Most occultists and people on /x/ are folks who want mainstream success but were never able to get it. They also either skeptical to the extreme or open-minded to the extreme.

Plus a lack of practical application in their own life.

If you are feeling discouraged take heed that you don't have to be like them. You can make the type of life you wish to have and it can be very unique indeed.

I am lucky to have found a small handful of people who have the same mindset as I do, the issue is that many of them are not as familiar with the concepts covered in many of these circles as I am, so I'm playing teacher for a bit ig (with help from others).

Soon something may come of it. I have an issue of attempting to correct people when they will not be corrected. Too many individuals would rather accept a definite wrong answer than an "I dont know" or a "we may find out later".

For me I'm attempting to convert people to my spirituality.

So far I've managed to convince 5 IRL people to drop Islam and follow my internet political spirituality.

I hope to convince many more to come to do the same face-to-face but I have to be careful because the area I'm in has made the occult illegal.

            RIP

I know how you feel. There are certain beliefs which are required for a proper understanding of the occult which cause certain political beliefs to be put under additional scrutiny. Many individuals want the benefits of being a normie and being esoterically aware.

What are some of these pitfalls, and what books mention them? You mean shit like arrogance derived from perceiving oneself as better than others because you are oh so enlightened?

are these people better off following some random guys random new age shit instead of following the esoteric paths of their own heritage (sufism in that case)?

Many individuals want to rush to conclusions about things or refuse to refine their beliefs on emotional grounds. I have begun almost completely disregarding all individuals who say that they activly practice any mainstream religion because it means their minds are shutoff to meaningful change. Also what you said about enlightenment.

    > People dont have ideas, Ideas have people.
This is a very dangerous belief you have. And it actually makes sense why you're coming to the conclusion you are.

    Consider the following:
There is more than 1 truth. People going down a particular path of truth may get stuck, because something inside them knows they shouldn't go that way. Not because it's wrong, but because they don't want that truth to become their truth. It's too dark.

You may also have that inside you, but you're ignoring it. How do I know that? Because of what you wrote in green above.
If you weren't ignoring it then you never would have said they aren't your ideas and that the idea controls you. The fact that you see it that way reveals it's something even you don't want.
But you think you have no choice, so you ignore it and become a slave to it.

That's a very good way to end up in a reality you don't want to be in. I would recommend you think long and hard about what you're trying to satisfy by going that way anyway?
If it's not your Self that you're trying to satisfy then who? What?
When you realize that it's your Self that you're trying to satisfy then you'll wonder how the right answer can be so offensive to your Self. And then you too will become "stuck" like all those other people.
Or not... If you really want to keep free falling into ignorance of the Self then that's also your choice.

    Based and Truthpilled.

The only way forward is to read books, talk to people and figure out what works and what doesn't. In the end we're all alone walking down a dark forest. israelitetube, facebook and tiktok are the main culprits as to why all this esoteric knowledge is shit now. Everybody is trying to learn this shit for popularity and views instead of for daily use.
