What is your definition of naturalism/materialism exactly

You idiot, materialism means being a soulless npc who worship science and treat matter as the sole reality

Sick. Thanks for clearing that up.
Its hard to strike the balance between living in this reality while also adventuring through consciousness as a whole.
You can try to find your truth, but you will still need to eat. How do you reconcile with that.

Or rather how to progress past the realization of the divine comedy and spiritual nihilism.
Yes we create our own reality. But mastering that creative force is a b***h. Especially when it feels like every physical force is designed to rip you away from your divine sovereignty

it's not self refuting, it's all-embracing. If you think that there's more to reality than matter, you just have too limited an understanding of what matter is.

On the meaning of words I accept to viewpoints mainly. 1. That their meaning is fluid, meaning making hard assertions about abstract concepts is meaningless unless there's a lot of context leading up to it to prop the words up with meaning (which in this case there is not) or 2. The supreme meaning of the word is always the oldest, the original, the primordial/primary. In this case, in addition to to the abstract ideas of origin and subject of focus, the word also referred in early usage to wood, which is likely in my opinion to be the earlier usage on account of being tied something of direct specific experience, before it became raw material generally. Raw material? Well raw material I have power over. Do I have power over everything? No it does not appear that way. Therefore not everything is matter. If there is truth, something beyond a single person which is eternal, then certainly not everything is matter.
Though it is true you can abstract any idea (word) until it encompasses the whole of existence. Everything is an apple. Everything is my left shoe. If you want to do that with the word matter be my guest.

You have power over the material? I sure don't, I have to use my muscles to try and nudge things around like everyone else

Stop coming to /x/ if your going to twist Christianity into every fricking subject/thread. These people aren't even Christians. They are filled with hate for thy neighbors and can't humble themselves. Seriously it's like they walk through life and look to Jesus for guidance "what would jesus do?" and then do the exact opposite. It's really sad. Just check out /misc/. It's filled with hatefulness and 98% of the users think they have Christian values. Wild stuff

It makes sense when you consider that they think that everyone who believes different from them will be tortured for eternity after death and are okay with that. If you ask me, they're the real Christians. At least they're somewhat honest.

I believe consciousness is the primary reality with matter as a secondary phenomenon. However, I still believe in the scientific method and would consider myself a naturalist. Spirituality is a naturalistic phenomena that can be tested, at least on a subjective, personal level, if not objectively.

Paranormal is for spooky stuff and unexplained phenomenon with some metaphysical garnish. Can't have unexplained phenomena without explanations. It's a fine line between healthy skepticism and suspension of disbelief eh lad?
