Spiritual implications of taking psychiatric meds? I want to be better, but I'm scared of what will happen to me. What's worse, they refuse any other kind of treatment unless you try a buffet of different garbage poison placebo first.

i've been on psych meds for years and my spirit is far greater than a normie spirit. i encourage you to take as many pills as you can- the less dopamine and serotonin there is in your system, the more room there is for your spirit to grow.

And people wonder why there are mass shootings. They have a perfectly reasonable toolset, and 90% of the time they refuse to utilize the proper tools, because of ego or complete and utter lack of understanding.

There’s a special place in Hell for psychiatrists.

well it's certainly something. psychiatry was put on scientific footing by Freud. but the pharmacologist disbands from Freud and considers himself a scientist because he uses chemical chat. this alchemizes the subject into a baser materialization. it seems the efficiency of the state is what props up pharmacological psychiatry as a non-Freudian "scientific" discipline. it is still discipline, as in disciplinary practice: the discipline of the psychiatrist is the disciplining of the patient thru the State polis

      CAPTCHA: AGAT88

i wrote a book that's a prophetic critique of psychiatry, Hermeneutics of Silence: Twilight of the Psychiatrist. here's a free pdf if anyone's interested:

It's just cheap for insurance companies. They think they can just pop someone on antidepressants/antipsychotics, maybe put them on CBT for a few months, and then they're good. In reality this only drives up the expenses for, and damages the health of, anyone who's not just feeling bummed out.

Pharma psychiatric pills should be an absolute last resort. Try psilocybin first at least.

I'd really have liked to try esketamine therapy, but they don't let you try that either until you satisfy their definition of treatment resistance.

Depends which pills you're talking about. Amphetamines, for example, are very different from SSRIs and antipsychotics. The former can actually help you quite a lot in /x/ related pursuits (or whatever else you set your mind to) if you're responsible with them. (But you have to be responsible with them!)
Just look at Paul Erdős: one of his friends dared him to stop doing speed for a month, so he did, but in doing so he set mathematics back a month.
If they'd had amphetamines in ancient Egyptian times, I guarantee you they would have been considered sacred to Thoth.

I'm schizophrenic. Schizophrenia is a brain disease and needs medication to keep it in check. I need my meds, they don't take away my soul but they do have side effects. I'd be dead if never took them.

I wouldn't recommend antidepressants as a first port of call but they can save your life so if you've tried all other options and they haven't worked out, give them shot. At that point, the only other option is death so which would you prefer?

Fricking moron. Schizophrenia is cured by going into ketosis.

There's only one pilot study suggesting it would help reduce psychiatric symptoms moderately. That's not a fricking cure, and there isn't even much evidence for it.

All I can say is I'm on a few meds to help with my anxiety, and I still feel spiritual and have my beliefs. I don't know what every med will do anon. And meds seem to affect certain people differently. Anyways, I hope for the best for you, and others as well.

How about the physical implications? Check the full list of side effects on WebMD and consider why this approach may have taken the forefront over traditional psychological analysis, dianetic processing, inner family systems therapy, or other holistic approaches to dealing with what is basically always caused by childhood traumatic events. "Meds now" posters are trying to kill you.

SSRIs make me apathetic, emotionless, despondent, and prone to "me vs. everyone else" worldviews. I've been on 'em for 2 years so far and I can only compare my condition to that of Doctor Faustus when the angels begged him to repent and he kept yelling back,
    >No!
    >It's over!
    >Let me rot in peace!
    >I'm beyond saving!
    >Stop trying to bond with me - I'm dead inside!
I feel like there's a huge amount of elastic potential energy binding my soul to my material urges when I'm on them, and I can't overcome it, but at the same time, not taking SSRIs causes me to regress to a state of active self-destruction.

It's weird. My doctor is all for protecting/improving male health to improve his patients' well being, but he still prescribes SSRIs as a first line treatment. These pharma companies have to be giving doctors kickbacks.
