Significance and meaning that goes with the idea of light? Does anyone know what I am talking about? In case you haven’t noticed, a great deal of attention and detail goes into the lighting behind social gatherings, sports games, concerts, any sort of light venue. You have to ask why do all these events need to be brightly lit?

Could it be that there is importance attached to the significance of light? Do you think it matters or means anything? A couple of years ago I had what I suppose you would call a close encounter with death, and after that, something happened that made everything look different to me, as if my eyes had changed, I became particularly aware of how light looked, and this took on meaning to me, I thought I stumbled upon ancient meaning that must have existence since the Middle Ages and might have something to do with Christianity, but actually might possibly prelude Christianity itself. Surely in the world of symbolism lighting means something but does it go much further than that? I thought I had stumbled upon some ancient belief system. I also had thought that this is what “white supremacy” is, but when I looked up white supremacy all I get is the idea of white people being racist, but if you look at most spiritualities and religions there is this supremacy of white. That’s another thing I forgot to mention, it possibly goes hand in hand with that, religion and spirituality placing importance on white. It kind of scared me and I thought it was this scary thing that’s held over peoples head or something, I think I might have just been suffering from what had happened to me and I just saw light more vividly then normal. But I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and can validate my theory or not? I’m pretty sure there’s some truth to it
But I don’t know if I’m just exaggerating some parts.

I also felt like I attained a form of enlightenment when I saw the light I felt this wave of peace wash over me and euphoria

but it was different then regular happiness, I felt
And understood what I think are spiritual symbols and practices

wherein I would not have understood prior previously before but anyway, I think it all goes together.

There are multiple forms of Light. Light from Above, as in the Sun. And Light from Below, as in the Fire that burns in our Heart. Knowing both, and the strengths of both is crucial to development.

Many underestimate the Light of Fire. Use your strength of your knowledge of "White Light" to understand "Red Light". There is also all the colours of the Rainbow as Light. That is the progress that society needs to make in order to evolve, revolve, too.

Finally there is the Absence of Light. Those who cling on to "White Light" too firmly do so because they lack confidence in the fact that Light Shines Brighter from Darkness.

The darker the Shadow, the brighter the Light.

I’m pretty sure that due to Christianity darkness is not seen as positively it is not as trusted and thought to coincide with evil, Lucifer was believed to be a master of the darkness, it’s like a different world altogether, you have the world of
Light and the world of darkness

“Once long ago, before there was such a thing as time, the world was shrouded in darkness.
Then came the splendor of light, bringing life and love into the Universe, and the Lord of Darkness retreated deep into the shadows of the earth, plotting his return to power... by banishing light forever.”

“The harmony of the Universe depends upon an eternal balance.”

I think you're onto something, there definitely feels like an alignment towards light as deeply important, maybe in western culture but maybe in all of humanity.

Personally I think it's kind of a misunderstanding; there is a Very Good And Important Thing that we recognize as light, but it's not REALLY light; "light" is just the closest thing to it that we can understand. And that kind of leads to a superstition that puts whiteness and lightness above other things, but that's wrong because those are just terribly crude imitations of the Very Good And Important Thing

Well yes, I pretty much agree with that, light is just what is used to symbolize and portray these aspects or meanings in a way, but I think if it’s very real then I think some do think it could be literally light and darkness.

I'd be very surprised if it was, not that I'm the ultimate arbiter of truth. I suspect that the important concepts ARE real, and they're probably not far away from light and darkness (in terms of distance in... concept space? or something??), but the differences are as important as they are subtle.

Well hey I had partially thought that maybe some of these notions or practices I was noticing were actually ancient traditions passed all the way down from the Middle Ages and the crusades knights of Templar things like that.

    >You have to ask why do all these events need to be brightly lit?
So viewers and the cameras can see what's going on? Genius.

Get your head out of your ass, this 2 and middle bullshit is tiresome. Conceive of something you've never seen before.

Here’s Oliver Twist set in Victoria England, I was trying to use movies as an example I think a movie from Europe and especially England would be rife with that sort of thing, here you can see there’s bright light almost bleaching the color of the rest of the picture

Here’s Oliver Twist again set in Victoria England, I think this type of lighting and look is very synonymous with the Victorian era.

He has bright light shone directly on the top of his head it’s kind of unnatural when you think of the actual lighting that would realistically exist in the building they are in

Here is a photo from Hook

Hook I believe is based very much on Victorian era sentiment or style

The lighting is really crazy in Hook
Here is the poster for the movie

    I think it’s real

Here is a picture of Hook again, I noticed they well-lit Captain Hook he has this shiny look about him in general like if shimmering he’s always well lit in the movie I think Captain Hook is supposed to symbolize this sort of Victorian while Peter Pan is covered in shadow

Light shines more on the young
Asian kid and the sword while
Again Peter is kind of covered in shadow
