    Not really into Christianity but Japan going on a pan-pacific crusade during WW2 with a crazy Christian-syncretized state religion similar to the Taiping would have been a sight to behold.

      Can Japan grow clovers on their northern islands? Just curious because of... um... Celtic cross and shamrocks and EerieWeb and whatnot

    It would have been a dilution and weakening of proper Shinto.

      You know that pagan gods were changed to christian saints and still worshiped? You know that christmas have pagan orgins? You know that right?

        Not true. Well the Christmas thing is but not that of the Pagan gods. The truth is what you think you know of paganism is completely and totally made up. Real paganism and it’s gods are the arch angels and the arch demons. Their knowledge is hidden by the Catholic Church so they are not worshipped as they were openly in Europe before news of Christ came. The lies you have been told of Catholicism and Europe are astounding. It wasn’t so much of a conquering as it was a merger because both sides had half of the same story the other did not.

        No, it's simply not compatible. The basic characteristic of Christianity is that it's a 唯一神 religion whilst Japanese religion is a mixture of buddhism and shintoism, the latter having 八百万の神.
        You cannot believe in Jesus Christ and God according to accepted Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox dogma whilst

          I'll say it simpler. Yahweh cult worship is not right at all and needs to go away. Anything is better than that.

      you don't put the 7999999 ones before God, you can acknowledge their existence dummy. What is the Elohim? Are Hell and Hades the same place?

      Kami doesnt literally translate to God as its definition in the English language, its just the closest word they have to it.
      Its better to see it as a catch all term for beings more spiritual then humans regardless of whether they are good or evil
      Itd be more like if we had a catch all term for Angels and Demons

        Daemon used to be a catchall that meant both. We have the word meme. Try studying language before speaking about it.

          I am trying to explain the definition to someone who might not know what the word Daemon means and might just misinterpret it as a weird spelling of demons so I decided to explain it as I did and I stand behind it.

        Demon -> daemon = spirit.

        Eudaemon = good spirit.

        Cacodaemon = evil spirit.

        Keep it simple.

      >Having 8 million kami
      is le bad, despite Kami are spirits.

      >Having 8 million angels
      is le good, despite 'angel' means 'messenger' and this messengers are spirits.

      Spirit = daemon -> demon, neutral term.

      Aka, Kami = Christian angels / eudaemons.
      Oni (evil kami) = Christian demons / cacodaemons (fallen angels, pre-Creation beings, etc).

      People fighting and dying for man-made words is a God-tier level of stupidity.

    Many great minds have sought to synthesize Christianity, Shinto, and Buddhism. Is it even possible? Depends on your point of view.

    The best possible path in humanity would have been: Rome joins East Asian empires (China or Japan or both). They were pretty compatible and would have benefitted of clashing first and merging afterwards. Instead desert death religion took over and Rome fell from the poison inside its walls.

      Its not even the desert religion aspect. Christianity was based and redpilled before the Nicene Council. They rejected the idea of a nazirite becoming a son of god. Roman religion was pro human cultivation like eastern religion. Christanity was radical because it was a cultivator's religion but it was forced to adopt an anticultivation orthodoxy.

    I find Shintoism to exist on a spectrum. Shintoism - Memetics- Scientology. Weirdly I believe in some shintoanimism but agree with much of gnosticism despite the contradiction between one faith being nihilistic and the other being optimistic. Memetics- are everything. The Logos is a powerful meme. Memetics- brought Dawkins back to God and they can for the rest of humanity as well

    I'm sorry, but Christianity could never have grown in Japan.
    The reality is that it could never have grown in east to southeast and central Asia in general.

    abrahamic monotheism isn't compatable with anything, the entire point is it's the one true religion and you should kill anyone who isn't a monotheist. The greatest thing Japan ever did was reject monotheism and kill the ones trying to bring it.

      Abrahamic monotheism has angels and demons, just syncretised your good gods with the angels and your evil gods with the demons.

      How people don't get this?

          I read it and the syncretism can work, read History, you moron.

          Archangels like Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, Saint Uriel, Saint Raphael... were pagan gods before being incorporated in abrahamic cosmology.

          If they could what stop your own gods to survive?

            Which books exactly suggest that it could have worked despite the fact that it was tried and failed miserably?
