real Justice and modern-day Asceticism

I want to take Brahmacharya seriously and that means, not only celibacy in mind and deed- it means WAY MORE than that. It's unfair for me to do things based on reproductive success if I won't reproduce...this means Im obligated to avoid and run away from: status, social standing, material goods and money and profit-rendering commerce and labor. Not only do I have no duty or need to engage in any section of society- I have a duty to oppose all that...even personal care of all manner.
The best I can do- or the least I must do is sell away everything, buy the smallest, cheapest possible legal apartment even in the worst area of a "bad" city ,manage to live there while legally opting to have no "utilities" (water, gas, electricity), somehow pay taxes without using any internet and try to get by without a job, rarely -very rarely- leaving my hut.
This is what it means to be internally consistent with one's own ideology.

Sounds nice. I'll continue to be consistently evil and pursue money, power, and pleasure. Have fun in your hut though, anon.

      >pleasure
The most extremely effeminate thing in the world. you make an eunuch femboy look like Rambo. feeling pleasure is unfair towards those who suffer and unfairness is unmanly.

Millions of people alive today have never heard of "the internet". why ShouldI-have-had heard it? why, what duty do I have to be onlinez?
I discharge myself of that labor. As soon as I can I will be living like this, Like a Celibate must. possibly I'll stop using any calendar or clock for months on end, too.

Can ascetics be creative, or is that a satanic pleasure?

Brahmacarya should not run away from society unless they are too weak to temptation. Otherwise, a brahmacari should be in constant service to society in accordance to guru's instruction.
    Remember the four abstentions:
    >meat eating
    >intoxicants
    >sexual activity
    >gambling
    And their extended abstraction
    >violence
    >lethargy
    >material association
    >needless speculation/risk

      >serve society
      >don't materially association
      To square the circle, remember
We want to TAKE association rom the spiritual masters, we want to SHARE association with our brothers and sisters, and we want to GIVE association to those still stuck in material thought.
Association is more about influence and listening to people, rather than physically being around them (though where you prefer to be is an indicator).
It's one thing to want to go out and feed the hungry to inspire people through kindness and charity. It is quite another to go be around the same people because they think like you and you just want to hang out and have a good time.
Brahmacaris should be around the sick because they are training to be a doctor, not because they are also ill.

I thought the real brahmacari path was hermit-dom, to avoid ALL possible lust?
I'm willing to change my ways and plans and going to med school is a real interest and choice for me (a lot of college education is free here, up to advanced residencies and so on, thanks socialism)
Also when you say avoid speculation and risk do you mean : no stock market shenanigans or even minor investments which carry risk? and no risk means no extreme sports, facing danger to prove ones bravery and bravado, etc?

        >hermit-dom
It's there, but brahmacarya and Sannyasa - renunciation - are both PARTS of society not an absconding from it.
Think of it more like boarding school, and then some become lifelong students, never accepting household life.
        >no stock market shenanigans or even minor investments which carry risk
It is a type of gambling, yes. Leave that to the householders that create the wealth of society. A brahmacari shouldnt have any money to invest in the first place.
        >no extreme sports, facing danger to prove ones bravery and bravado
Yes and no. A healthy body is important, and athletics are a part of that. But keep it simple, and don't bring in moneyed aspects or elaborate equipment.
Better to learn wrestling, swimming, and other "body only" ways to remain physically fit instead of something like hockey or skiing or other things that need lots of stuff.

Preaching the glories of the Supreme is the best action for the welfare of society

No doubt. Preaching is as varied as meditation.
Seen you posting a lot. Kind of wish you would put a bit more into it.

what about travelling? is tourism bad, vanity ,except if it's pilgrimage which may be an altogether different thing?

Traveling per vacation, or just for novel scenery, would be vanity and should be avoided. At the same time, it can help remain in an unattached mood to not have a permanent residence.
For example, a lifelong brahmacari might take up a profession of providing fresh water to people (digging wells or the equivalent is like the quintessential good karma) and thus move from place to place all around the world to do so.

I think the top material karma-good actions are -according to what I read-
            >gifting cows caring for cows
            >gifting a temple andor hari or vishnu idols of precious metal
            >gifting land
            >digging a well

    brahmacharya isn't something you do
it's something that happens as a result of correct meditative practice.
