It's all coming together

I just had some insights which made a lot of things click together. Reality creation, dreaming, lucid dreaming, and astral projection are all deeply related.
I know that's hardly a new idea, but it's in the details.

But first you need to understand something about consciousness. Different types of experiences are distinct from each other. For example you can't reduce smell into vision, you can't reduce vision into sound, etc.. They're "orthogonal" in a manner of speaking. Like separate dimensions or spaces.

Now let's say during a dream you're actually creating/manifesting something into existence. But most nights when you dream, you're primarily _manifesting_ in the "thought space". And only weakly in the "visual space". Even when you dream in color it's still not the primary space you're dreaming in.
But during a lucid dream you begin to dream almost fully in the visual space. It occurs when you have heightened awareness of the visual space, and so your _creation_ is directed fully into the visual space.
Astral projection is the next step, you begin dreaming in the "touch space". The space that sensations of physical touch and "bodily sensations" reside in. So you _create_ the experience of having a body other than your normal body.

It's all about what dimension/space you're dreaming/creating/manifesting _into_.
So to improve our ability to lucid dream/astral project/manifest we need to become more aware of those other spaces in which the different conscious experiences reside. This is why meditation is about the felt presence of the moment. It expands your awareness into those other spaces. I'm going to try every night to set the intention of dreaming into those other spaces, and becoming aware of conscious experiences before falling asleep.
I think we can reach a state where we create conscious experiences as effortlessly as we can conjure up a thought.

I've never had synesthesia, but how sure are we really that it's not just a very strong association?
Like if someone says they can "taste color" how sure are we that they aren't just strongly associating (or manifesting) taste as a reaction to color, rather than actually "tasting color"?

We can't crack open the qualia to even verify accuracy of experiences in regards to reality, representations, translations within a single sense-type, so there's unlikely to be an either argument answer on that, either

You've never had it so anything you say about it is meaningless. Go try mushrooms and then when you become a big boy get back to us.

Interesting. I don't lucid dream although I've had two very short experiences. I do have very vivid dreams, but in those two LD's there was an enhanced visual clarity, like a crystalline quality. It seems to me that would support what you said.

That must suck, I have a dozen experiences a night sometimes, I just keep going back in. I stay aware as I fall asleep, I don't black out.

That's literally why I was _asking_. But the fact that you became defensive like this for no reason tells me everything I need to know about why you're here.

Exactly. I've heard so many times about someone lucid dreaming for the first time and it's almost always something like:
      >I wish I took off flying, but instead I just kept staring at the wall (or the ground) because it was so real I couldn't get over it, then I woke up.
And that's how it happened to me for the longest time. There's definitely something more "real" about the visuals, to a degree that even dreams in color still don't normally reach.

You don't know if anything is an insight unless it leads to something that you used practically in real life to your benefit. Everybody and their grandma thinks that they are enlightened, or have their third eye opened, or awakened their kundalini, etc, etc, and yet they are a mediocre unaccomplished wage slave like every other person on the planet who doesn't claim to have achieved any of those alleged feats.

If you don't have any to show for it, don't assume that it's real.
