I'm scared of no afterlife and turning into nothing and never seeing my family again.

I'm scared of no afterlife and turning into nothing and never seeing my family again. Just the thought of nonexsistence makes me panic. Is there an afterlife? And if there is an afterlife how will it look like?

Think to yourself how you experience your family. They are images created by your consciousness ordering information. But you aren't them, per se. You are not their individualized experience of the world, you cannot truly understand them while being you. But you can see them from your perspective. However there is a fundamental primordial "being" to your existence that also inhabits them. The difference being the skin you've decided to pick this time.

You were never not with them, and will never be without them. Nothing to worry about fren.

you will lose your individuality and you will reintegrate to the absolute
there is no 'life' after death, because death implies a lack of life but like said the state of 'being' is eternal

If you won't exist, you won't be around to care. You can either go full YOLO mode like globohomosexual wants you to, or you can go the Pascal's Wager route. Live as if there is an afterlife and/or a God, even if you don't believe it. You lose nothing.

Yes, consciousness is forever. Your life is a tiny glimpse to which God experiences existence.

I was brought back once after an almost successful suicide attempt. My experience is you’ll only worry once you’re here, there is peace on the other side when it fades to black. In between here and the next assignment of your experience is somewhere time is different and it no longer matters. Your worries are normal. You just have to roll with it

I'm more scared of the prospect of an afterlife.
Maybe I'm just a pessimist. The only reason I never killed myself is that I didn't want to take the gamble on it not being the end.

It's natural for the thought of nonexistence to be frightening, but it indicates that part of you doesn't completely understand what nonexistence means.

If existence is this poopy then nonexistence is based.

That’s because you have no legacy. Either that or you haven’t thought of legacy as a solution.

If you think legacy is meaningless your ego is the problem. Millions came before you. Millions will come after. You are not special but your legacy has potential of immortality even if you are finite.

With mass extinction events, most bloodlines will simply vanish like all other life on Earth has before.

Only through cosmic endowment can you achieve functional immortality.

There's an afterlife but there is no death. You won't die, you'll just move on to another branch in the eternal fractal of possibilities, a branch where you can keep observing.
Even if you definitively died (ran out of observable possibilities) you'd only start from the beginning again; without your memories. From that point on you'd be unknowingly marching towards this same death for eternity. To everyone else you have died; life goes on. For you, no. You would still be glued to one perspective in the strip of time you call your life. This life would be on loop from beginning to end like it did the first time.
I'm thankful there are things watching out for us, but I lament that non-existence doesn't exist because this makes true rest impossible.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to experience NOTHING.
If that's what death is, then it means we cannot experience it and we never will.

Fear exists only in the realm of the living. Stop being a pansy.

This is 100% true. The extremes of emotions we have is an innately human trait. It's something we learn in this physical form, which we shed in the next.

Just believe really hard that.there is an afterlife waiting for you. It's unironically how it works.

Nothing proven. There do exist certain hints that consciousness may survive physical death in -some- form, but nothing else that we would have hard proof of. Life is meaningless, technically and objectively. We ascribe meaning to it, our loved ones do. In the great circus of the Universe, though, we're nothing.

    >Is there an afterlife?
    Yes.
    >How will it look?
It will manifest base on your beliefs. So let's see..
    >Just the thought of nonexsistence makes me panic
Well shit, then I have some bad news for you anon.

Nonexistence is nonexperience. What would be there to be afraid? Your fear is a waste of the time you have. Fear only makes sense if there is an afterlife that can be experienced.

    >I'm scared of no afterlife and turning into nothing
That doesn't even make sense. If you get turned into nothing there's literally nothing that worries anymore about anything, its the deepest rest there is.
    >never seeing my family again
    Nothing can't miss anything

If anything you should be afraid of life after death, like reincarnation for example
