I'm looking to join a sci-fi cult with vaguely Masonic trappings. What's more based, Mormonism or Scientology?

      Not anymore.
      >The Mormon Church, or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), officially renounced polygamy on September 24, 1890, with the release of the "Mormon Manifesto". The manifesto required all Latter-day Saints to uphold the nation's anti-polygamy laws. Church president Wilford Woodruff issued the manifesto after becoming concerned that the practice of polygamy would lead to the destruction of all Mormon temples. The manifesto also stated that members who practiced polygamy would be excommunicated, the most serious penalty the church could impose.

Were they in Mexico? Because you'll have a much harder time finding any polygamous Mormons in America. The threat of excommunication / legal penalties is too high for most.

He is probably from some kind of fundamentalist mormon church and not the mainstream LDS, there are still tens of thousands of mormons who practice polygamy.

scientology is far more north eastern so it's clearly superior.

Church of the Sub-Genius. It's mostly for degenerates and weirdos but in true chaotic fashion they also embrace straight laced squares who want to join.

Why not both? Scientology doesn't demand exclusivity and Mormonism doesn't care if you are getting energy-mind therapy from another cult. I'm pretty sure there are progmo's who do TM.

Look up Crowley's Lam drawing, though.
Also, Raelism is what you're looking for. They also own a human cloning company called Clonaid.

    Mormonisms focus is spiritual colonization.

Scientologists focus on earthly and intergalactic dominance (No progress yet)

Really depends what floats your boat. I for one think they are both lame.

There are two Sci-Fi religions I know about: Scientology ( L. Ron Hubbard, "Dianetics"), and the Neo-Pagan "Church of All Worlds" ("Stranger In a Strange Land" Heinlein (Author), and Oberon Zell Ravenheart). Both Hubbard and Heinlein were Sci-Fi authors. I don't like Scientology as I think it's very dictatorial and more expensive!

Raëlianism is the best of the three. What? You never heard of it? Here's what you're missing.

    >Mormon
Christian with Extra steps. Not really Scifi. Tons of guilt tripping. The multi-wives thing is a meme. They really enforce TONS OF KIDS and service to the community. Also magical underwear and getting married to ghosts for reasons.

    > Scientology
Literally made on a bet when someone told Hubbard he couldn't make people believe literally anything. Now it's mostly a scam with a few insane fanatics in it. When you get in you get stalked and it gets really bad. Operation Clambake.

    > Raëlian
No gods, no masters, only us and the Ayys. Be based so the ayys will want to chill with us. No divine punishment, on death you just become part of computer storage drive until xeroxed back to reality later. Women encouraged to be topless and have sex. Pedos GTFO.

Mormonism, Scientology manages to be even more moronic and eager to steal your money while not giving you any benefit unless you are someone famous they can use to spread themselves, at least with mormonism you could get a nice girl and I hear they are decent people in general.
