I lost desire to delve into the occult

I had quite a few spiritual encounters so at this point there is no doubt in my my heart that spirits exist. I generally follow my intuition in this. Usually I would have motivation to read new grimoires and try new rituals in an attempt to interact with spirits, but for the last couple of months, after I offered my blood to one of them, it feels like a chore that won't bring any meaningful results and I don't bother. What happened?

You realized most of it is bullshit.
Keep to the essential, curiosity and wonder, just for other topics, try quantum physics.

More like there was barely any input from my side. As I said, I followed my intuition in occult work, and basically did whatever I felt I should, which culminated in blood offering, after which I don't feel guided any more. For the first time, I feel empty.

Methinks the Spirit was giving him guidance towards the offering, and got what he wanted and left.

How many times and for how long should I chant it to "cleanse" myself?

      >most of it is bullshit.
This. I'm not saying the spiritual doesn't exist, but it's crazy to think how many lies about it we've been bombarded with.

You genuinely think working with spirits can give you what you are looking for. What do you possibly need from these things that God/Source/Brahman/Whatever cope can't give you?
Meditation and internal work is the only thing that will bring real happiness, building the relationship between you and what is inside of you.

      >Meditation
Why do people keep pushing meditation ad nauseam? It's good in certain specific situation, but in general true peace comes from exercise, fun hobbies and making love (not sex), just doing one of those a day is 1000X better than sitting there pointlessly either trying to silence your mind or worse, ignoring it.

You have a really good intuition, it led you to the conclusion that the path you were following was meaningless, which is valuable information if you ask me. Just let it point you in the right direction again. Even if your heart seems empty you can always feel what it really wants.

Sometimes it takes dark beings that long (or even much longer) to get close enough to someone for achieving their goals. In your case it was just blood and took forever, in other cases like mine it was implanting a tracking chip when I wasn't even born and who knows what else they got away with. However deep inside nothing they do can actually affect us, so just give that fricker the finger and move on with your life, which is what you should always pay attention to.

Meditation should be a cycle between, prayer, silence and concentration. I agree that just trying to silence the mind generally isn't helpful for most people.
This is if you want to continue pursuing a spiritual life, if you just wanna hang out with friends and do hobbies you can obviously do that.
Maybe a practice like puja might be more up your alleyway if you want to connect with light spirits.

Believe me, nothing fires up your soul more than just living your life. For instance, elementals are much more active around say a mother of 3 getting her kids ready for school than your typical spiritual quack who can't even see them. As souls we are already connected to all other light beings because we are one of them, we don't come here to Earth and incarnate as humans to do something so basic, we're here to experience the wildness of human emotions.

Nothing but delusions on this board.

There are no supernatural forces, souls, magick, life after death, undead beings or giant conspiracies hiding things we cannot imagine right under the surface of what we can see. Reality is cold and driven purely by power, intelligence, determination and manipulation. There is no hidden meaning, no destiny, no reason to live. Reality is both a giant playground for us to explore and progress in, but also an arena for us to fight in for our false ideologies. If you fail at life, you will never find anything to hold on to. No aliens, no haunted houses, no spirits, no demons to fight. You're only fighting with your own delusions, and desperately trying not to hit the absolute bottom. Now try to prove me wrong, if there really is anyone still treating this paranormal shit seriously.

I definitely agree with you that there are no spirits, angels, demons, or any grand conspiracies, but knowing that reality is a playground, it would be best to encourage other people to move beyond superstitious beliefs and occultism, which can lead to devastating results like infighting between us humans and even things like racism. Rather, we should promote the idea that we humans are the "gods" or "angels" that our ancestors believed in. The power is within us; we don't need "god.". It's up to us to make each and every day worth living, not just for us but for life itself, knowing that life is short and you only get one of it. Discourage things that lead to hate and tribalism, which includes lust, sports, race ideas, etc., for our collective betterment. We become the "God" that our ancestors made up.

I had some nondualistic experiences and realized the same thing. Humans need to tell themselves stories in order to feel "real" and magick + the occult is just another one of those.

Will dabbling in the occult help cure my nihilism? I don't feel the need to get in deep or become a larper, but just seeing some evidence or contact with something of a paranormal nature will be enough to know that there i a world beyond the mundane material one I'm stuck in.

getting over nihilism is more tackling The Absurd (Derealization) that's probably plaguing you and most others stuck in the nihilism tarpit. And learning to live for experience itself, rather than some grand existential parade..
Read Camus if you haven't, he really articulated a lot of things that were previously subconscious feelings for me, and it genuinely helped.

Yeah, you're supposed to progress. Move on to better things. Developing a spiritual practice is essential to real occult work. That's what the idea of Liber Resh and other daily practices is. Also why israelites pray three times daily. Muslims with their 5 salaat. Messing with spirits can be a trap and you fell into it.

    A Common Pattern:
    >be agnostic about religion, never having had a personal experience
    >dabble in magic because why not
    >realize that spirits are real
    >realize that if spirits are real, then the Great Spirit is also real
    >realize there are consequences to mingling with dark forces
    >drop the occult practices for religion - seeking to improve the soul and the afterlife
