Great I’m not a cuck who turns the other cheek, I’m a winner who conquers my rivals and am very happy and proud of myself and so is my family

          >I’m a winner who conquers my rivals and am very happy and proud of myself and so is my family

highly doubt, if you feel the need to brag about it here and talk about how forgiving makes you a cuck. A real winner would be content in just winning, and wouldn't need to be an overly aggressive, insecure prick

I’m responding to the question asked by the OP and to the question by the person who responded to my first reply, taking the high road gets you nowhere but being looked down on as a weak person and you can cope as much as you want but there’s nothing sweeter than having the last laugh

there are many things sweeter but sadly it will be a long time before you find out.

You asked how my 8th grade was and I gave an honest answer lol I came to this board to read about ufos, found this thread and now I’m laughing so hard my sides hurt, my position remains the same - I’m not about forgiving people who have wronged me, I don’t turn the other cheek, and I get my retribution - you can be a weakling and cope that your inability to be the winner in a situation was of spiritual value

Most powerful thing you can do. You have emptied them out of your mind and stayed clear from pursuing wrath. You don't need to forgive them in person. Forgive them in prayer. Go back to their first breath as a baby, walk through their life, see how this world has shaped them. Then forgive them. It's sometimes easier said than done.

Forgiveness, showing compassion, and eradicating the aspect of the enemy that made them hurt you inside yourself (e.g. if an enemy acted out of anger, getting rid of anger within yourself) is the most powerful form of revenge. It makes their demons turn against them.

Ofc, it all has to be genuine

    >forgiving your enemies
It's debatable what that even means. It could be interpreted in a subversive way, empathic way, egoic way, fatalistic way and many more ways. Your focus is on the act instead of intent, meaning and understanding. Window dressing.

    >karmic / moral point of view
I don't think this part of it is even important, it's simply that it's bad for you to be mad forever I believe forgiveness is even thought of incorrectly more properly it should closer to forgetting or simply knowing events in the past have no power over you.

It depends. Sometimes your enemies are victims themselves and deserve forgiveness.

Other times, your enemies are evil and your forgiveness is cowardly and damns your soul.

People don't understand forgiveness, it doesn't imply you have to approve and think what was done to you is okay. Its about releasing or letting go of the pain that you yourself hold inside and therefore the act that was committed to you is gone and that person holds no power over you anymore. Forgiveness is saying this won't hold me back anymore.

forgive comes from Proto-Germanic *fragebaną (“to give away; give up; release

Honestly a lot people probably don't have the spirit for it and will just superficially warp it into a guilt manipulation.
Forgiveness and pacifism aren't the same thing, forgiveness doesn't mean just letting shit happen to you and not defending yourself.
Also important to remember is that you can't forgive someone who will not acknowledge they did something wrong. Often times the only way to forgive someone properly is to first confront them with the truth of their transgressions. Being able to confront people without being super aggressive(if you have to do more than match their level forhiveness is probably not an option) is probably the thing most people frick up, which is why this false dichotomy of either being an aggressive prick or an impotent pussy exists.

    >How powerful is forgiving your enemies, from a karmic
It is said to cause your own sins to be forgiven.
Every person treats others with various degrees of severity and mercy.
If you want to receive mercy, then you should show mercy.
If you want to dish out severity, then you will receive severity in return.
Lots of talk about this sort of thing in the gospels if you read through it, and right down the relevant verses and meditate on them, as if they were a new Law of Mercy to bring redemption from the harsh Law of Severity given in the Old Testament.

"the measuring rod you apply to others will be applied to you"

    forgetting is more powerful
    to forget is to forgive
    you must really feel it
its no use to just forgive for the sake of forgiving or because you know its the better thing to do
    you must feel

if "forgiveness" subverts the integrity of law to the point where it does not avenge the defenseless and innocent of crimes committed against them by the powerful and corrupt then forgiveness would be both morally and "karmically" evil.

  14. 2 months ago

Forgiveness of offenders at the expense of the innocent and the law that should protect them, just for the sake of feeling good about your own capacity for forgiveness is probably the most selfish pathetic hollow virtue signal imaginable.

On one hand, forgiveness is mercy, and mercy is a virtue.

But on the other hand, mercy is a suspension of justice, which is moral to uphold.

It's not so simple as to forgive or not to forgive all enemies for any reason, though? If I'm playing a 5 year old in chess, and he makes an illegal move, I'm not going to hold that against him for the rest of his life. If I witness someone frick a goat, I'm gonna hold that against them.
