How get phenomenal cosmic power /x/?

Christianity is a bogus mechanism for controlling bozos.

Crowley and the Golden Dawn were followers of Dee who got cucked by Edward Kelly.

Siddhis are just ways to trick you into meditating more.

Alchemy was just a bunch of manic plato fanboys/gnostics.

New Age crap like Neville Goddard and The Secret are just repackaged self-help at best and sympathetic magic/off-brand VooDoo at worst.

I don't care what the consequences to myself or my spiritual growth are, at this point I just want to find something that actually works, or at the very least; something that will at least move when you poke at it with a stick...

Is there NOTHING out there?

As close as you can get to having superpowers is just mental training. Force yourself to do something that sucks every day. Take cold showers or ice baths. Meditate and do breathing exercises. Fast for extended periods of time. Set a schedule of said things and punish yourself if you get lazy. With enough time and effort you will acquire a steel resolve to do anything you put your mind into.

Yeah, that is my suspicion unfortunately... Fricking theury not being able to cut the mustard so it has to lie and pass itself off as thaumaturgy to try to trick people into a glorified spiritual self help...

If you are referring to theurgy; not interested... Theurgy is not ACTUAL spirituality, it is just repackaged self-help... I'm looking for thaumaturgical solutions...

    Do the left hand path

I mentioned multiple flavors of the left-hand path...

Crowley was a follower of the left hand path and still, him and all of the Golden Dawn couldn't tell the difference between an actual demon and warm water running down their legs, put there courtesy of the imagination of Edward Kelly, the crop ear'd Dee cucker...

If there is a particular flavor of the left hand path that you want me to take a closer look at; you're going to have to be more specific... Too many LARPers to be that broad...

If you want wisdom at least then Platonism is what you should be studying. There's only truth to be found in the writings of the divine scholarchs. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater because you don't like alchemy. That was a later systematization of earlier ideas.

Yeah, philosophy is great, lots of things are great, but it doesn't turn lead into gold.

The problem with today's society is that everybody is drunk on theurgy, mentalism, and self improvement, what happened to good, ol' fashioned, low magic and commanding/bargaining with the spirits?

Everyone today wants to apply Carl Jung's work to spirituality and assume that magic is all just parts of our own psyche that we are manipulating, but that doesn't explain anything... I've seen certain things before, I KNOW that thaumaturgy is real, unexplainable things DO happen, I'm sick of con artist LARPers trying to make a quick buck, and I'm tired of theurgists pretending that mentalism can do anything (until you read the fine print) for clicks and clout, I want something REAL, not just Tony Robbins in a robe and/or the ramblings of people who were all duped by a con artist from the late 1500s...

That stuff is real because the external world is the reflection of our psyche. You master the Self and the world bends over backwards for you. The irony will always be that all those games you want to play aren't all that interesting once the Self is realized.

My higher self didn't try to start my aunt's car in a graveyard.

Yeah, maybe mastering the self is powerful, but that isn't the information that I am looking for...

What do you define the higher self as? From how you speak, and how you seem to interface with your reality, I think you may be putting notions of otherness that aren't necessarily there.

            I would consider the higher self, in this context, to mean;

Any definable self, that can be considered the self, that doesn't cease to render all notions of self and other meaningless...

So basically, there are a lot of different higher(and lower) selves because we exist from many different perspectives simultaneously, but find the one that is the most broad definition, where terms such as self and other have not broken down yet, and that still makes sense to call "self", that is the higher self that I specifically am referring to

but hard telling what anyone else means when they say "higher self" as there are as many higher selves as there are people who think they have the higher self figured out. Which is another one of the issues with theurgy... Theurgy will always extract a high price and give no proof of it's claims until you have reached the end... Awefully convenient if you ask me... As if it was just trying to trick you into self-help... Yes, there are some interesting concepts and ideas to grapple with and understand but it's all ultimately just useless garbage, and the powers that they promise you will never be realized... Prove me wrong...

I don't think anyone who practices theurgy could be described as a mentalist but rather as an idealist. Also most people have no idea what theurgy even is, so I don't know how they could be 'drunk' on it as you say. With all this being said I'm no fan of con artists either. But you can usually easily distinguish the types who will spiritually benefit you and the ones who won't easily with discernment.

They don't know what it is, but they assume that all spirituality is a type of theurgy/mentalism just said in different ways across different cultures in ways that have to be "interpreted"... Those are the people that piss me off... It's like, no, they don't have to be "interpreted", some of them are just garbage and maybe some of them actually work...

I'm starting to think that I might unfortunately be the world's foremost expert on spiritual contact, which if true, would mean that we are all absolutely screwed in terms of ever being able to interact with the actual spirit realm and not just a poor Jungian mockup of the real thing...
