How do you non Christians feel about this?

When I was 22 I became Christian. I didn't know if I should wear a cross necklace to show I'm Christian or if it'd be like the Pharisees patting themselves on the back. I asked God if I should wear a cross necklace or not and the next day this was on my back porch.

Christians don't worship the cross, it's merely a symbol that's a reminder of our faith and Jesus' sacrifice. Catholics however worship false depictions of Jesus via painting or crosses with him on it that they pray to, they also pray to marry and the saints and listen to doctrines outside of the Bible and think you can earn your salvation and confess their sins to a man they call father.

Worshipping the cross would be like worshipping a gun or sword. Its a weapon imbued with power

        Matthew 23:8-12
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

same story. what it is to be a leader, is to serve those you lead. the alpha pack leader is the best representative of the will of the pack.
a lesson in humility in a position of leadership and power

the entire faith is built around the cross and the sacrifice Jesus made for us all. If anything, a better question is
      >why do some churches avoid crosses, and others avoid crucifixes? who do they worship if not Christ crucified?

The two conflicting takes on this that actually matter are that 1. the cross is a symbol of great sacrifice and surrender to what is, and so wearing one would give you a constant reminder to orient your life around the virtue of selflessness and the rejection of victimhood

    or

    2. the cross is a symbol of the mockery and torture of your savior and people have been psyoped into revering it to serve as a further mockery. you would be better off wearing a goldfish.

The cross is a symbol of "We killed God neeener neeener neeeener" and the Roman Catholic church worships Ishtar in a Mary mask. What else is new?

If I were to just schizo read the symbolism there.
Bird guy (great spirit of a falcon, representing freedom, lightness if spirit, good vision) is giving snake forehead guy (representing a confused coiled mind, ill temperament, double speak fork tongue, crawls on its belly through the dirt) a choice (intersection of lines, crossroads).

The implication is that it is a choice to be like the spirit of the falcon instead of the spirit of the snake, to cross over from the endless loop it is in (the top loop of the ankh (pointed at snake guy) and be free like the falcon (long line of ankh pointed at the falcon dude).

The arms pointing up and down on the ankh represent the threshold that must be crossed. Choice is the threshold, to leave the loop and cross the threshold and pursue the freedom, lightness of spirit and vision represented by the falcon.

but the ankh is a symbol of life, more literally it represents egypt, the lower and upper egypt, divided in two.
The round part is the nile delta. Nile was the only place you could live nearby, also giving the floods that made agriculture prosperous, thus symbol of life.
Horus is giving egypt away to be eaten.

to snekhead pharaoh that would be a politically favorable interpretation too.
            >dear people of egypt, the gods have given me all of egypt to eat.
            egypt:
            >well okay then, if the gods said so

Christians wearing crosses started when Jesus said
      >take up your personal cross and deny yourself.
Like the eucharist, it's a spiritual symbol.

Only if you think the necklace itself is divine and you would go running into a burning building to protect it.
If you wear it to remind yourself/others to take up their personal cross and follow Christ, then no. It's not an idol.

Byzantines have a good quote about wearing crosses if you look for it. Yes it's a reminder of our Lords sacrifice and a reminder to live a Christian life

yes wear a poor man's cross to be unlike the pharisees, as long as it is not pride it doesn't matter that you wear Christ on your sleeve.

God's marketing team is in overdrive since less and less people are worshiping him now. He's been backpedaling for years ever since his 'accidental' flood that nearly killed all life.
