Has anyone else noticed time is speeding up?

Has anyone else noticed time is speeding up? Watch a clock or the stopwatch app on your phone and watch how quick the seconds are going by. You can’t say “one Mississippi, two Mississippi” etc to time seconds anymore they’re way faster. wtf is happening did they do something at the hadron collider???

Yeah, we've all noticed but redditors have been trained to respond with "it's just your perception".

It really is your perception. The same amount of time means less to you as the time you've lived increases. To a person who is ten years old, one year is a tenth of their lifetime. When they're in their thirties, one year no longer feels like a tenth of their lifetime, because it isn't. I'm sorry if you want a different answer, but this is actually why time feels like it's moving faster.

Nta but how does perception explain that when I was younger one Mississippi, two Mississippi is how we were taught to count seconds, and now that measurement no longer works?

It does, kids are more enthusiastic and energetic, you just said it faster back then.

I just tried it, you probably have brain damage from drugs or you're on benzos. Benzos will show your brain and cause moronation, everything will seem normal to you, but other people will see/hear you moving/talking slow. I can do it and still have a a good .2 or 3 pause before the next second starts. Are you vaxxed?

No, if you said it fast as a kid it was cheating. You were taught specifically to drag it out. Now it doesn't fit even speed talking, and no I am not medicated, vaxxed or suffering a stroke. What kind of moronic derailment excuse is that

            Anonymous

Your brain is slowed down, something obviously caused it. I have to drag it out or I'm left with .3 seconds inbetween like I said. I'm not doing that shit you've had multiple people telling you it works for them. It's you. If time was actually moving faster, you would be moving faster with it, so it wouldn't be noticeable, you slowed down. I'm not gonna bother, but I can guarantee a 20 year old alarm clock would go off at the exact same time every day as a new one. I don't think you understand how much shit would get thrown out of wack if time sped up but you stayed the same, you don't think people like Justin wong who play fighting games that require perfect 1/60th of a second timing would notice a difference of 30 or 40 frames like you suggest? You're not thinking this through.

Also, I think your forgetting that moronic female teachers probably told you to really drag it out more than you should have because that's what they thought was correct or it's what someone else told them. I really doubt they had a stopwatch out as they taught this to check for accuracy. You arent supposed to say it super fast, or too slow, you just say it normal. Sperg little kids will talk 100wpm, so of course slowing down to burlap would seem like you're "dragging it out". Anyone whose taken psychedelics knows is just perception. Salvia can drag out a few minutes to seem like several lifetimes. Id be more worried about my brain slowing down like I was in xanax without actually taking xanax

1 Mississippi was always too slow, i think we were fooled as kids unironically, I remember using a timer during a football game when I was 11 and being blown away by how much faster I was saying Mississippi than the clock.

Unless you think time had already started speeding up 17 years ago.

This. Teachers taught all sorts of bullshit, I would always get in arguments with them because I would correct them in front of the class. It's just like the telephone game.

It never worked. It was a myth. I remember thinking that one second wasn't long enough to say one Mississippi, two Mississippi as a kid.

Maybe time is like electricity, it has speed and strenght, and the more strenght it has the more activity is possible in one hour, even if it's a fast hour, but if a hour is longer, and technically gives you more time to do things, when the strenght-factor is weak not much will get done ...

    You're just tired...
    im tired...
When you are psychologically tired, time seems to go faster because you just want to go to sleep.
When you entertain yourself and really like something, time goes slower.

The only time I felt something nice for a girl I really felt like time was going slow
And I don't mean that you just like her physically.
It is as if I had entered another world and another reality. Well, at least she did have a reality that was completely different from mine. and I really enjoyed being with her although it never happened to anything romantic.
I still miss that nice feeling.

do the exercise, start doing a hobby or something you like without feeling obligated and look at the time from time to time.
I think psychologists call that dissociation, although there was also something similar called flow.

what is your location, or altitude if you don’t want to provide it?

I’m Midwest USA at 500 feet and 1,mississippi 2,Mississippi takes as long as expected.

If unwilling to share either , can you yes/no - does any of the following match your current location or altitude ? And are you comfortable saying which one you agree or disagree with…

I’ve clocked the seconds happening much faster at high altitude and in various locations in Mexico (time compression.)

time runs slower under ground and at sea level

faster at the equator and at altitude (faster still at both)

    Heavens yeah.
Last night I took a shit at 22:33. When I came back to the computer it was 22:55. 22 minutes of shitting. Didn't take 22 minutes for me though.
A video I watched was 2 hours long, I watched it at double speed for maybe a third of it. By the time it was done, 2,5 hours had passed.

It's not the only change I've noticed.
I can only eat every 40-45 hours now.
It's not a deliberate choice to fast. The thought of eating is enough to make me nauseous, it came out of nowhere.
In a way it's nice. At 2000-2500 calories per day, basically missing 3 days worth of food in a week should net about 22lbs of fat loss in two months.
The worrisome part is that it's not happening by choice. It's completely out of my control.
And those 40-45 hours? Feels more like 8.

    >grow older

    >brain functions slower
    >observe less time
It isn't speeding up, you are slowing down. Every old person ever observes this phenomenon.
