Charles Portrait

Watch the video. You can see him flinch as he unveils it.
https://twitter.com/RoyalFamily/status/1790405604072153328
Why does he flinch? Why does he seem to displeased? Because he knows what the symbolism in it means. He is a dead man walking. He waited his whole life for this position, eagerly anticipating his turn on the throne; indulging in pet projects and grand displays. But he's been plagued by omens, and now he has been confronted with his legacy and his death. It's looming over him. He hasn't much time left.
Not only that, but something terrible awaits him.

You think they're mocking him and saying that he's going to hell or something like that? Is this an actual humiliation ritual? Ho Lee Fuk!

    That's for Diana.

He's shocked because it's not the final version he was shown. Additional work was down after his last viewing and prior to the big unveiling. And yes, Diana is a factor.

This is how you know this thread is bullshit, they start out with a falsehood right off the bat. He flinches because he's an old pussy scared of a tarp, he can barely even move his arm enough to pull the fricking thing down. It's b***h shit.

It's objectively ugly and outright disrespectful to be of such low quality. It's like the Obama portrait all over again. "Modern art" is an affront to real art.

They must know what they're getting. They literally commissioned an artist known for making collage portraits of politicians out of porn. He's painted Charles' wife before. The only part you maybe wouldn't predict is how fricking red it is.

It's a way of showing prestige just like how if all the bourgeois people in Paris were into sundials then Louis XIV would want a massive golden sundial. All the celebrities get a Jonathan Yeo portrait now so he's going to get one, even if it's shit.

I think the portrait does have artistic merit, but experimenting with a more abstract style probably wasn't the right move to make in the current climate.

Unless the artist is secretly a republican or something.

came here the moment i saw that mess, something felt odd

even though charles is still king of the bloody country this portrait made me feel sad, time is ticking

      Anonymous

Like the Obama portrait Anon mentioned earlier, these are sad paintings. Completely closed-off. Nothing to look forward to, no future perspective, not even a tie to the past or the present, just a wall behind the character. Compare with this other presidential portrait, both anchored to the present AND opening (window, suggestion of things happening outside of the frame)

He's regularly whined about not having enough money, cheated on the mother of his kids with a hag, and flinches at a covering he himself pulled down... what exactly is decent about him?

He was caught talking about how he wants to be Camilla's tampon, and he was best friends with Jimmy Saville. He is not a good or even well man. He probably cries if the palace staff put his teddy bears out of order, but unlike his brother Andy people are too scared of blowback to tell the media about it.

I still recall his reaction to when the staff didnt prep something for him.

He isnt gracious or patient. He is but an old spoiled child who finally got his main wish. I guess, the wish came with a bunch of strings attached.

It might also be that he's a pathetic, spoiled manchild who can't even do things like move small objects away from his hand without an attendant to help him. I like the idea that he recognises that his sins haunt him, though. Jimmy Savile was close with Charles.

    Just tepid I say!!

Featured in Amazon Prime's documentary Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm last year, Mr Burrell revealed: "His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoe laces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid."

Perhaps the strangest request is over Prince Charles' dental hygiene though. Mr Burrell claimed that the royal heir has one of his staff squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.

The symbolism is obvious, it's a parallel between the alchemical great work of transformation and evolution (i.e the butterfly in his right shoulder and baphomet in the middle) through fire and synthesis and England's future as a dominant nation. What they're saying is "The United Kingdom is at the end of its process of ruin and destruction and shall now evolve through chaos and expansion into a powerful nation once more."

They need to get fricked even more by blacks and browns so William who is reportedly crazy and based can become a RW leader in the future. He will be the fire, this painting doesn't represent the king it represents the future of the royal family.
