Catholics are silly. >the virgin Mary was sinless. You mean like Jesus Christ himself?

Catholics are silly.
>the virgin Mary was sinless
You mean like Jesus Christ himself? You have to kinda be omnipotent to live a life without sin. It's the point of him being God incarnate on earth. Was Mary also God?
>it's not idol worship, it's veneration!!
How do you even discern that? How do dumb people discern that? Regardless, more time spent talking about saints and Mary is less time talking about Jesus

This. Just a rebranding of the Isis/Osiris or Samaramus/Attus myth. Paganism with a thin Christian veneer. Calling it Christian at all is laughable. Constantine corrupted and absorbed true Christianity as a political move. The more Rome persecuted and killed people of the early faith, the more it grew.

Catholics just accepted polytheism (without saying it loud). It's more like Hinduism than Christianity.

      Anonymous

In Catholic theology it's not polytheism. Protestants think all abilities people have come from themselves. This isn't what Catholic theology says. All saints get power and abilities from God the source, not themselves and none of them have the ability or desire to go against God's will so they aren't independently wielding power.

There are three sources indicating Hermas was the brother of Pius I:
        (a) the Muratorian fragment,: "Pastorem vero nuperrime temporibus nostris in urbe Roma Herma conscripsit, sedente cathedra urbis Romae ecclesiae Pio episcopo fratre ejus. Et ideo legi eum quidem oportet, se publicare vero in ecclesia populo neque inter prophetas completos numero, neque inter apostolos in fine temporum, potest" - "And very recently, in our own times, in the city of Rome, Herma wrote the Pastor, when his brother Pius, the bishop, sat upon the chair of the Church of the city of Rome. And therefore that (book) ought to be perused, but it cannot be publicly read to the people assembled in church, neither among the Prophets, whose number is complete, nor among the Apostles (who came) in the end of times."
        (b) the Liberian catalogue of popes, in a portion which dates from 235 (Hippolytus?): "Sub hujus (Pii) episcopatu frater ejus Ermes librum scripsit, in quo mandatum continetur quae (quod) praecepit ei angelus, cum venit ad illum in habitu Pastoris" - "Under his (Pius') episcopate, his brother Ermes wrote a book in which are contained the precepts which the angel delivered to him, coming to him in the guise of a Shepherd."
        (c) the poem of Pseudo-Tertullian against Marcion, of the 3rd or 4th century: "Post hunc deinde Pius, Hermas cui germine frater angelicus Pastor, quia tradita verba locutus." - "Then, after him, Pius, whose brother according to the flesh was Hermas, the angelic shepherd, because he spoke the words given to him."[1]
The statement that Hermas wrote during his brother's Pius pontificate may similarly be an inference from the fact that it was in a list of popes, against the name of Pius, that the writer found the information that Hermas was that pope's brother. He may have been an elder brother of the pope.[1]

when colonizing the new world, associating The Creator with God and likening other minor indigenous deities to saints was how many Algonquian people were assimilated into Catholicism. modern Catholicism let alone Christianity as a whole is a crude mockery of what it originated as, evolved through a grotesque game of telephone. religion is an ideological ship of Theseus and pure religious devotion is the right path for maybe 2% of the world population, but go ahead and delude yourself into thinking you've got the absolute correct one this time. history will forget

It is mortality that makes you not God. Mary was no different in this sense. And thus, also needed to be saved. Christ didn't come to merely save people from sins, but the very nature of the Flesh.

I was dumpster diving the other day and picked up, like, wads of Virgin Mary cards, all stained with every kind of nasty stuff that's also in the trash. It occurred to me that a dumb person might get, like, personally offended by such blasphemy, as if you could throw wads of Virgin Mary into the trash with the problem being the sanctity of Virgin Mary. Made me wonder if it even means anything, that face in the trash, to anyone but whoever was unfortunate enough to have to face the question for any reason.

Doesn't matter. From the point of view of the OT all people are born into sin, because of Original Sin. Jesus was not born threw a sexual union, so He doesn't have that particular sin either. iirc Mary was also immaculately conceived. Christianity is a complex religion. if you think it is all 'sola' this and 'sola' that, you are doing it wrong.

Truly, low church protestants are almost there if you think about it. Most you'll see is an unadorned cross and some colorful banners that has at best a bible verse on it. A live, laugh, love poster would look at home. This is partly why I think the evisceration of the American Catholic churches after Vatican 2 was such a shame.

Idolatry is refering to what babylonians and before sumerieans did, they literally believe that the gods were inhabiting statues, and they took statues from defeated cities into their temple to get the losers's god work as a servant for the victotious.

It's also referring to the fact the Sumerians believed these gods had powers on their own and not from the supreme God above them and the fact these were demonic entities.

Any christian who worships Mary or calls her immaculately conceived has abandoned truth and walking road to damnation.

Don't you realise "Queen of Heaven" is simply that single archon known as Lilith/Afrodite/Asherah/Ishtar who has been tasked to destroy Church from within?

So she endeavours to insert herself into Church. And has succeeded.
