liminal spaces are cool, i remember their was a short free game that just let you wonder around in the backroom levels for a bit but was a very short game.

It adds to the visuals quite nicely I think, in that guy's case he actually understands why the backrooms are unsettling, it's the weirdness and not monsters or stuff like that.

Liminal spaces do come from a place of emotion though, eerie memories we have where something didn't make sense.
For me I get the feeling at train stations at night if no ones around.

As usual though, zoomers are morons and turns emotions into stupid memes they larp about to feel unique.

I wonder what would happen to them once they ban petroleum cars. The vast majority of them would not afford EVs, and the infrastructure to support them won't reach their generic suburb that is dozens or hundreds of miles away from the designated Gaza-style 15-minute city center.
If they took their cars, most of Suburbiastan dwellers would die in less than a week.

It was kino because we were together, belonging to a real community isolated from the normies. And we shared it with each other, without moronic trolls, without attention prostitutes. And we'd stare at the image and make up scenario, using our brains without anyone to tell us what to think.

When it first started popping up, I remember that it was a lot more about images that had that unsettling 'uncanny valley' type feeling, like pic related.

I unironically believe it has to do with alien abduction. And they're implementing these liminal space experiences as screen memories in our """dreams""" to hide their tracks, operations, actions and intentions.

Same deal with the "mall world" dream phenomenon or whatever.

It's creepy since it usually follows one of two ideas
    >Unnatural / man-made structures, but not actually made by humans (especially if non-euclidean)
    >Man-made, but slightly off and with a complete lack of people, fake worlds
It's not that hard to understand, not sure why people pop blood vessels over it

Don't be mad at mid ideas for getting played out, get mad at normies who play them out for being low IQ bandwagoneers that worship obsess and endlessly copy them hoping for some sense of creation and ownership over such ideas.

I think the fear around liminal spaces isn't entirely the place itself.
It's the unknown aspect of not knowing if you are alone or not when you're first exploring them.
Which is something that normalgays absolutely dread.
And if the not knowing if you're alone or not doesn't really get you.
Then the thoughts of whether there's an exit or not is what will actually frick with you. Especially when there's no food or drinkable water.
You're basically fricking trapped in what seems to be an endless maze.
Either slowly dehydrating to death or slowly starving to death if the water is drinkable.
You're stuck and you only have a sliver of hope of there being an exit.
It honestly wouldn't be as bad if you didn't have to worry about eating or drinking.

because it represents what people feel. We are culturally trapped in a loop. Stuck in cycles of shallow nostalgia people recognize that we cannot seem to progress into the future, while being unable to fully enter the past. So we are stuck in a place of transition. A liminal cultural space, so of course it resonates with people even if they don't really understand why

blame zoomers. in the early days of /x/, liminal spaces was like /b/'s version of "comfy threads", but ironically /b/'s "comfy threads" were too normie for us, so /x/ had "liminal threads" which had this otherworldly feeling of isolation mixed with joy and melancholy, but they were comfy nonetheless, not scary or filled with dread. that's when the moronic zoomers who didn't get it started making all the fake, animated images with some shitty phone app filter, making it weird and spoopeh. the backrooms were the beginning of the end unfortantely. i used to take liminal pics myself and post them on /x/. great times. miss the real liminal spaces /x/bros

Most people live in noisy, dirty shitholes so an empty, clean room is unsettling to them.
