I find that I gain emotional fulfillment and indeed, a certain zest for life by manipulating the emotions of others. I find it difficult to access anything close to an emotion or internal sensation while I am not attached to a victim. The longer I go without "feeding" the more I feel depressed, apathetic, and nihilistic.

Seduction and manipulation are as easy as breathing, even though I am only mid-tier in looks. A simple pattern of eye contact, combined with certain facial expressions and a certain tone of voice can get me anything from a simple meal to a night in someone's bed. This is immensely harmful to the victim's mind, and can lead to undesired attachment in the victim. In my youth I used this power to devastating effect, but now I try to be ethical, discrete, and strategic in how I use my victims. Eventually they do figure out what you're doing, and then the tables turn.

Ethically speaking, finding a willing donor is ideal and relatively simple, but in a pinch, I can visit /x/ to drain a confused christian of a tiny drop of their sanity.

I currently live with a willing donor. I try to drain this one sparingly, I overfed from my last partner and ended up losing influence entirely after she left to recuperate and regained a sense of "normal" im her life.
as for lifestyle, I live in a small rural farming town. I work like everyone else, but try to limit my contact with others and only engage conversation as absolutely necessary. I limit my true social interactions to my partner, and very few close friends.

I mean, who hasn't sucked blood from a lover's neck, just for the bonding experience?

But to say there is an undead creature only capable of subsisting on the iron-based nutrient fluid of humans, I mean, what?

You've given me lots to consider, thank you. I may have an exaggerated idea of what a vampire realistically is.

          >I can visit /x/ to drain a confused christian of a tiny drop of their sanity.

Do you have disdain for religious people, or do you find them particularly gullible or unintelligent?

            Anonymous

Well like, Religions are just systems of rules that people abide by. If I can use the loopholes and hazy translations of their own religion to confuse them, make them question their oen understanding and dedication to those rules, I can incite them to levels of emotional distress that give me the transfer of emotional power I need. Christian mythology is readily accessible and inherently fractured from the start, so I find that, on the whole, christians are easier to feed on.

Atheists tend to make good sport as well, though I find they catch on after a while.

Every human is another sapient mind that is not my own. Every mind can be gamed for an emotional output that validates my existance. It's just a matter of knowing what buttons to press. Anonymous sites and social media are good for this. I once infiltrated a 2A Militia Discord Server and fed on its members for months by masquerading as the Token Liberal and intentionally doing things that made members cringe. IRL I have no political motivations whatsoever, but their continued attention on me allowed me to routinely feed off their emotional output.

Busted flat in Vegas, but coerced an Australian tourist into buy me a ticket further toward my destination, and give me a free burner phone.

I'm a genuine psychic vampire, aka an emotional vampire. I can tell you a little bit about my real experiences, but they aren't very exciting.
To tell you the truth, it's not a very nice way to live. I consider it more of a curse than anything else, because I can't experience emotion like a person can. If I want to experience emotion, I have to seek it out from humans. That's how I "feed". From what I've heard, in other vampires like myself, the parietal lobe and more specifically the primary somatosensory cortex is extremely developed when compared to humans. Our perception of the world is vastly different than yours would be. We are extremely perceptive to human emotion and as a result we are extremely empathetic. Despite this, we are emotionally cold and unfeeling. We are completely uncaring and unsympathetic to others.

But by coming into close contact with humans, we can experience the emotion that they experience almost as potently as they are experiencing it themselves, maybe even more potent. I don't know if this is really a psychic reaction or what, but I always feel way more alive and almost happier after being around a human that is in a happier state. Unfortunately this is a double edged sword. When a human is in a negative emotional state, we feel it to. Our parents teach us how to avoid absorbing negative emotion when we're young. It's something we learn by watching them. Vampires who can't do this because they were abandoned or were never taught by their parents for whatever reason are always unstable mentally. I've even heard some stories of individuals becoming reclusive and retreating away because they just can't handle the emotional absorption from living around humans. But we need to absorb emotion regularly, or our bodies literally shut down. We die if we don't get constant emotional contact with humans. One doctor said he thought it might be something related to how our bodies produce hormones and neurotransmitters.

I was born like this and I've always known. My parents are the same. We're actually a very tight-knit community.
When I don't feed I just start feeling more and more like shit. That's the best way I can describe it. I imagine it probably feels a lot like what human depression feels like. The longest I've ever gone without feeding was a few months and I was in the worst state I've ever been. I remember my parents basically begging me to get outside and go socialize because they knew I would die if I didn't. I think it varies from vampire to vampire, but most doctors agree that after 2 years of absolutely no emotional absorption you are at the point of no return.

            >do you feel lethargic
Yes that's a perfect word to describe it, but it's more than just lethargy. It's like you have brain fog. You can barely think, and all you want to do is sleep. Your body feels so heavy that you can barely even move.
            >So there are psy-vamp only neighborhoods and psy-vamps have relationships with only other psy-vamps?
We don't have specific neighborhoods or anything. We are fairly spread out, all over the world, but generally speaking we all know each other in one way or another. We have monthly (sometimes yearly) get together events where we call come together to meet each other and get introduced to potential husbands/wives, or just new people that moved in from other areas. Every area has a patriarch and a matriarch who are generally the oldest members of the community.

We can date humans and have relationships with them, but it's extremely frowned upon to try and make it long term since we can't have kids together. It does happen, but that person is usually looked down on by their family members, and their inability to have children is blamed on a spermcount issue or something.
A lot of us become doctors, so if the issue of fertility comes up, you go to see a psy-vamp doctor, and they just give you a fake diagnoses that you are infertile or something.

We call ourselves Lemantics btw. Idk why but that's what we have always called each other.

Can psy-vamps detect other psy-vamps? Do you know if it's possible for a psy-vamp to be born to non-psy-vamp parents?

            >Can psy-vamps detect other psy-vamps?
Nah it's not like we have psychic radar or something like that, but I have noticed that we can usually recognize each other if we watch each other for long enough. Like for example, back when I was in highschool there was this new kid who instantly caught my attention. I can't really explain it but it was just kind of a gut feeling type-thing. Then, sure enough, I met him at the next get together. His family had just moved from Indiana. He also mentioned that he noticed me at school, but he wasn't sure.
            >Do you know if it's possible for a psy-vamp to be born to non-psy-vamp parents?
Nah that's like asking if it's possible for a wolf to be born to chihuahuas. As far as I know, we are basically different species. It's not even biologically possible for us to have kids together.

Is there an online test one can take to see if they're a psy-vamp? If not, might you happen to have a Pastebin of psy-vamp traits? Are psy-vamps functionally immortal like sanguinarians?

            Anonymous

lmfao no there's no online test. We don't really talk about our existence, to anyone. The only reason I'm even talking about this stuff here is because this is EerieWeb, and no one would ever believe anything they read on this website, let alone this schizo board specifically.
If you notice someone who is usually very emotionally cold, almost appearing entirely uncaring, but lights up during social interactions, they might be a Lemantic. We don't really experience emotion on our own. We are like batteries that need to be constantly recharged through regular interpersonal interactions with humans. Of course, they might also just be an apathetic human, so don't go around asking random people if they are vampires.
We aren't immortal, but we can live a long time if we have health social lives. The matriarch where I live is 103 and she only looks about 70, maybe 80.

            Anonymous

            >Do you know why a psy-vamp would get abandoned?
I can only guess, but I think it'd be for the same reasons a human child would get abandoned; the parents could take care of them or didn't want them. In our communities, children are considered really important, so it's not that hard to find support for you and your child. We even have a fund to help families pay for things they need but can't afford. So probably, if a child gets abandoned or given away, it's because they weren't wanted. We are a cold and detached race by nature, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine someone just leaving their child somewhere because they didn't want them, though I've never heard of it happening within our community.
But I do remember once we were driving through an area, and we saw this guy tweaking out on the street smacking the side of his head. My dad pointed at him and said "That's one of us. Poor guy."
            >Have you heard of psy-vamp children getting adopted by non-psy-vamp parents?
Never. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never ever heard of it happening.

            Anonymous

Yes and no. Yeah you can experience their emotion just by hearing their voice or seeing them over a video call, but it's nothing compared to actual physical interaction where you can see, hear, and smell them. Specifically the smell. I have noticed people smell different depending on their emotional state. People smell bad when they are stressed, and they smell good when they are horny.

            Anonymous

We are capable to expressing any emotion that a human can express. We feel emotion through others, so if we are around humans, and the humans are laughing, we are also genuinely laughing. We can also laugh unprompted, but we don't really feel anything while doing so. We are good at faking emotional reactions in order to manipulate people into engaging with us to give us sustenance.

No, not really. Most families keep track of their genealogy but it's not like we trace them back to "the first". We can all trace our roots back to Suffolk, England, so maybe that's where we came to be. Or maybe that's just where the first Lemantic decided to start keeping track.

Depends what you mean by vampire. Blood drinking is more like ritual significance or even transformative change, a pure blood drinker is probably rare. If you mean those who would astrally feed on others and then physically dominate over them, then some probably are around once in a while but care little to post much. What I really wanna know/see is if there are any who are deep in a transformative path and tradition.
