someone explain to me why christians believe this was satan? Or just why anyone thinks satan is real in general.

Some think it was Satan, others think it was Lucifer, others think it was God himself for the sake of tempting/testing Adam and Eve. There are many varying beliefs across virtually every aspect of Abrahamism.

What is the difference between satan and lucifer? Also what is the devil? Or ruler of hell?

          Anonymous

Satan is the opposer, lucifer is the morning star (the light bringer). Satan is a title, lucifer is referring to a specific beign.

Lucifer is a ROMAN diety with barely any major lore and was considered a male aspect or personification of Venus (the morning star).

He’s not a character in the Bible or part of Abrahamic lore. people keep spreading this lie, and it’s literally shit they pulled out of their ass from deceptive biblical fan fiction and comic books. If a Christian talks to you about Lucifer please ask them to cite where in the Bible it’s mentioned and you will immediately see the, backpedal, conflate facts, misquote passages, and then try to feign ignorance.

People who do this are essentially as moronic as saying sasuke was the main antagonist in dragonball z. It’s literally just wrong.

But the 'gods' are real. Phosphorus/Lucifer is a Roman deity, but the entity behind that name is not bound to mythology and theism.

I am in zero way an expert on this subject so please take all of this way multiple grains of salt. You should do the same when reading about anything mystical related since this is a subject with zero official rulebook, scoreboard or means of tangible verification.

To my knowledge Lucifer is more of a third party that wants to elevate humanity to the level of godhood but he is frequently associated with shit like child sacrifice because of something along the line of either relinquishing your humanity or trying to surpass it. Similar archetype to Prometheus.

Satan is the classic enemy entity to God himself, but the thing is he still has access to the Heavenly realms or at least able to still communicate with God because he flat out spoke to him directly in the book of Job before they had their wager regarding his faith. Some believe that Satan is literally just doing his job as a tester and tempter of man and others believe that God and Satan are the same entity.

I think "The Devil" is just a catch all term for Satan and that title still tags along with Ruler of Hell.

Thank you both for your responses

What you say makes sense, I have seen reference to lucifer in ways that do not match with challenging God.

I wonder about the story of Prometheus and it's origins. Perhaps it was a story of the time to warn the lower classes of the dangers of taking from the upper classes

ancient Greeks described a race of underground-dwelling snake-headed men. there seems to be a few types of reptilian peoples. one of them got into the garden with Eve, and that's where Canaanites come from.

Satan was a seraphim. A reptilian like entity who was higher than all other heavenly beings except for God. He thought himself a creator as God commissioned him to be the grand architect of this dimension (a la imhotep) by letting his light shine through him for the task. That is why the free gaysons see him as the grand architect and they see themselves as his workers, creating the reality we know what subverting the truth. (Necessary evil to test souls, yadayadayada).

It feels like a story parents tell to their children with the moral of the story being that you should listen to your parents. This isn’t meant as an insult it’s kind of endearing when viewed from that perspective.

It’s interesting because in the story the snake was punished for giving Eve knowledge, and his punishment from God was that his arms and legs were taken away and he was forced to live the rest of eternity crawling on his stomach.

I think the story is cute because it sounds like something your dad or grandpa would tell you when you were a kid to get you to shut up. like “why don’t snakes have feet like other lizards?” And he responds “uhh.. he was bad and made God mad so God took his feet away”. It’s a decent story that warns kids to not play with snakes because they’re tricky and dangerous. It reads like a bedtime story.

Christian’s associate serpents with the devil because the serpent is considered dangerous, deceptive and manipulative, and generally the devil is associated with anything that could be considered evil, from dangerous animals, negative thoughts and feelings, deceptive people, vices/addictions, unbecoming urges, disobedient angels, etc.

It's kinda cool though because snakes actually do have vestiges of limbs, you can see the genetic markers for it.

Daily reminder that the moral of the tale is real, and knowledge do come with a huge price.

There is no moral of the story it's a shitty politicized propagandized retelling of the early history of man. There was an entity who wanted to farm us (yahweh) and there was an entity at a similar level of advancement who wanted us to be free to develop (the serpent). Any attempt to turn it into a parable is just fanfiction. It does present a moral choice - do you want to be a fricking farm animal or would you like to have real personal agency - but it's not a parable.

Real illumination does become isolating though, first thing that usually starts falling apart are friendships, it's lonely at the top, this applies to every aspect of life in the realm of fame, money and also, consciousness. It also usually involves a rough road of destruction initially with the dark night of the soul, and knowing that in some aspects you have to do horrible shit to fulfil your will because there is literally no other way and realising that is also fricked. Usually when people realise that good generates evil and evil generates good it becomes incredibly neutralising, illumination can also send you insane with the knowledge knowing that you literally just wasted your life being Black person cattle to israelite on a stick or some equivalent for absolutely no reason. Illumination is actually not meant for everyone, unearned knowledge and wisdom can be incredibly dangerous to the individual.

Why did God tell Adam but not Eve?
Why did Adam not tell Eve?
How did the serpent know Eve was not told and went for her first?
Why the tree of knowledge and not the other?

          Anonymous

The story is highly mythologized. There wasn't just a fricking fruit sitting out on a tree with a sign saying "no no eat this one". There was some esoteric thing or technology we weren't supposed to access and the serpent helped us do it.

People then try to quote passages about Jesus being the morning star to try and twist facts and make it seem like Jesus and Lucifer are the same thing and then they try to borrow mythology from Prometheus about him being a renegade spiritual figure and friend to mankind but it just seems intentionally deceptive and I don’t know why /x/ has a hardon for this guy when there is basically no historical or mythological evidence to support any of their claims that aren’t from paradise lost which was written in the 17th century.

STOP LYING. You don’t have to lie to people and try to confuse them just so you can self insert your headcanon into the Bible. You immediately come off as either a moron or a snake to anyone who is actually familiar with the bible and Christianity.

two trees in eden, one of eternal life and one of knowledge between good and evil, eve chose one over the other, and God saw this, and He was pleased; for those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for me shall find it

The tree of knowledge of good and evil is what the kabbalists know as the sefirot/qliphoth. Adam and eve were de-synchronized from God's frequency when they tarnished themselves with the knowledge of duality.

The snake symbolizes the sinusoidal dance of life. It is creation that is temping man not the snake per se. The positive and the negative rythm, the ying and the yang, the whole of creation is inviting man and woman to play the game of life.
