Aleister Crowley

This guys doesn't seem so bad, how come I've only ever seen him painted as an evil/crazy occultist? I honestly never really looked into him or his work but after reading that quote I am curious now.

What does /x/ think of this man, and his legacy?

    >Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Don't trust book reviews written by the illiterate. That's a good first step. Read his stuff and decide for yourself.

Crowley was a madman, he made up his own religion and lived it.

its to gatekeep fundamentalists and other unworthy people from the holy life.

the same reason why the bible and other scriptures were written in allegories and parables.

    > What does /x/ think of this man, and his legacy?

he was a true holy person. the type, which the church has burned in ages past at the stake.. the same way they accused Jesus of working his miracles by the power of Beelzebub, any saint who actually is a saint, is persecuted by the mainstream institutions and are depicted as evil.

He molested little boys and wrote up a ritual that required the sacrifice of a young child he absolutely was
    >So bad
Sometimes, you should judge books by their covers. Especially when the cover says "trustfund nymphomaniac satanist makes up rituals and cums on oranges in his manor with his creepy friends for forty years straight."

If you actually read books and don't just fall for gatekeeping evangelical talkingpoints, you'll notice he wasn't talking about kids, but semen. A lot of the early Gnostics did supposedly perform abortions and then eat the fetus though, so I suppose I can't blame you too much.

He was of truth and so was Albert Pike.

They took on the opposition role, to test the children of truth.

      >They took on the opposition role
No, they were just gatekeeping. Literally every single time someone does the whole verbose see how information dense I can make my speech/writing thing, it's because they think normalgays are annoying and boring and want to weed out the simpletons so they don't have to deal with them to begin with.
It's the same formula every single time. How do people not readily understand this, even on /x/ of all places?

I don't get it. Who's the "lord" here, who are the children whose flesh the addressee eats the flesh of and why is it good to reject the commandments of scripture? I can't make heads or tails of it.

Peace is a desert. You will not know the shadow you cast if you only seek the light: You cannot take responsibility for yourself and your actions, and almost certainly will not accept the chains that bind you together. Find your place.

He is a mixed bag. He was truly an esoteric scientist, and did experiments and research. Some good, some bad. Thelemites are pretty cringe though.

Interesting fellow. Went a little of his rocker in Cefalu though. He would dress as a woman, sacrifice cats...
Once his scarlet woman presented him with a silver platter of shit. He ate it.
I'm pretty sure a person died from infection while there. Mussolini was right to shut it down.

Did Crowley deal with astral projection, reality shifting, time travel and the like?

Because your premise is correct, obviously.
If the guy was alive right now, he'd be shitposting on /misc/ with all of us and coming to /x/ to wet his mental noodle.
