Do I have to be a Christian to join?

No, all that's required is a belief in a creator. I was raised Catholic but don't practice. Most of my brothers are Christian, but we have a couple of Wiccan and Muslim members. Also, in no way do Masons believe in a Demiurge or worship Lucifer (who is not Satan, that's a misconception of biblical texts).

Nope. I'm sorry the truth doesn't align with your fanfics. There is no 'Masonic God' or any of that odd bullshit.
          >b-but Albert Pike!!
Ok, some dude from 200 years ago who rebelled against his own nation isn't the best source of anything.

32 is as far as it goes, if you're Scottish Rite.

Is it true that Masons secretly fight in favor of democracies?

Many of my brothers are ex and current military, they make no secret of defending democracy. I myself have participated in multiple wreath laying ceremonies honoring the fallen Masons who died defending America.

            Now ur just weird.

This is an encyclopedia you, read it. This is the definition of it. Masons are in part, a liberal vanguard. Wasn't the founder of the United States and his crew, George Washington? Liberals? Wanted a liberal democratic republic?

Which is what a democracy is, an embrace of a form of liberalism?

It's ok to be a liberal, I love capitalism, democratic republics, and liberalism too. You are in a safe place mason-san.

No, that is schizo conspiracy theory stuff pushed by people who are antisemetic following evangelical Christian lies because the clergy actively make money off 'self improvement' and see any efforts as an attack to their bottom line.

Your homosexual urges are not shared by a Lodge of free and accepted masons. We do have one gay member, but he's so deep in the closet the boomers ask him if he's met any nice women unironically.

The gayest thing I ever experienced in a lodge is the instructions to a new Entered Apprentice. They all have that deer in headlights look like 'omfg THERE IS ANAL RAPE', of course that's ignorance and a lack of understanding as to why we ask all initiates to strip down and be neither naked nor clothed. The military does the same thing, the symbolism is deliberate and as nothing to do with sex.

You're not naked, it's literally part of the ritual that you're not.

No, they like the idea of israelites having Israel as they think it means the end of the world because some drunk 200 years ago proclaimed it.

Hey Mason Anon, how can I join a lodge? I've always admired the brotherhood shared between the members.

Every state should have a website where you can apply. Typically you'll then receive an invite either to be 'interviewed' by members of the lodge or attend a lodge function to be vetted. Mainly to see if you're not a psycho and that you don't smell. Initiation typically only occurs once a year - so you might not hear anything for a while. The brotherhood is the most important part and is one of those things you get what you give. We always have a few odd ones join to try and discover the secrets like the 33rd degree and child rape - they tend not to last when they realize it's mainly dudes drinking and hanging out, planning blood drives and back to school charity packs.

I would ask for an active lodge with members. Some lodges are like 4 old fossils and might be closer to you, but one a bit further out might be more active with a wider variety of member ages.

Honestly this. The poor stewards have to wash the EA robes and some motherfricker leave skidmarks even though we TELL THEM TO LEAVE THEIR UNDERWEAR ON.
